The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, awarded a 40th Annual City Community Appearance Award (Streetscape) to the NE 13th Street Complete Streets Project. T.Y. Lin International prepared design plans, permitting, and construction bid documents for the project, which redeveloped an arterial four-lane road into a Complete Street. TYLI also actively participated in the planning process with the community, City staff, the Florida Department of Transportation, and Broward County.

The New Champlain Bridge reached a major milestone. All 37 of the W-shaped piers caps are now installed! T.Y. Lin International is serving as Managing Partner and Lead Designer for the 3.4-kilometer, cable-stayed signature bridge over the St. Lawrence River in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

#ProjectHighlight: T.Y. Lin International is providing design services for a crucial Long Island Rail Road expansion project that will improve infrastructure, eliminate crossings, and add an additional track for capacity. TYLI is serving as a subconsultant to the design lead for the design-build team. The project is part of a comprehensive plan to expand New York’s vital regional transportation infrastructure and enhance Long Island’s economy, environment, and future. New York City's commuter rail system is the most extensive in the nation, serving over 150 million users each year in the City, Long Island, and New York’s Mid and Lower Hudson Valley.

T.Y. Lin International participated in Phoenix Canstruction on July 14, 2018. The event, hosted by the AIA in Phoenix, Arizona, invites teams to get creative and build structures entirely out of canned goods which are donated to a local food bank. Today marks the 13th anniversary of one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in North America: the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge over the Cooper River in Charleston, South Carolina. T.Y. Lin International, in a joint venture for the design-build project, provided design review, construction engineering, and field inspection services. The 2.5-mile, high-level bridge has a 1,546-foot-long, cable-stayed main span. Opened a year ahead of schedule, the award-winning bridge carries eight lanes of traffic, four in each direction, and a bicycle/pedestrian path.

#FactFriday: Portland, Oregon, is called “the City of Bridges,” with 12 bridges spanning the Willamette River alone. Two of the most notable river crossings are award-winning structures designed by T.Y. Lin International: Tilikum Crossing, the largest transit-only bridge in the U.S. carrying light rail, buses, cyclists, pedestrians, and streetcars, and the steel arch, Greenroads Silver-Certified Sellwood Bridge

#ThrowbackThursday: T.Y. Lin International provided structural design services for the Cayuga-Green Parking Garage Revitalization as part of a mixed-use development in Ithaca, New York. The project included the design of a 1,400-space, cast-in-place, post-tensioned parking structure and relocation of a regional transit facility to the ground floor of the garage. To ensure the facility’s seismic resilience, TYLI incorporated a complete seismic analysis in the lateral force restraint system design.

#DidYouKnow: T.Y. Lin International served as the prime design consultant for the Brookfield Floating Bridge Replacement Project in Brookfield, Vermont. To meet the mandated 100-year design life, the flotation system for the replacement crossing consists of durable fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) pontoons, tied together into a monolithic float using high-strength rods and steel splice plates. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Brookfield Bridge is one of about 20 floating bridges in the world today.
