OS X  .vimrc problem.

inoremap ii <Esc>'^ works great normally.

But when I turn off NERDtree by commenting out those lines, NERDtree is disabled, but now ii  actually types the character string "  <Esc>'^  " into my file:

" runtime ~/.vim/plugin/NERD_tree.vim
" autocmd vimenter * NERDTree
" colorscheme murphy
inoremap ii <Esc>`^

What am I missing here?

G+ is saying I can claim a custom URL, but I have to add characters after my name (even though + DougFredericks hasn't been claimed as far as I can tell).  How are people handling this?  I guess I could go with + dougfredericks1, but that's not a real elegant solution.

I really like the idea of this project.  It doesn't look like it'll make it to $32m, but I'm showing my support.

Good idea for keeping notes on projects.

Google+ really needs to figure out a way for users to bookmark G+ posts, like simply making +1's on posts go to your profile like they do for external +1's.  Following a tip, I created a circle called "Bookmarks" that I share posts to, but its a wonky work-around.

I've got my pi working as an airprint server - this is super useful!

#IfIHadGlass I would use it to help repair the 600,000 structurally deficient bridges in the US.

Hi guys, just thought I'd drop you a note.  I've got a node setup in Sacramento, CA.  No other ops involved in the area as far as I can tell.  I've flashed two routers and will have a 15 dBi omni up in the attic this weekend.  I'm good with the hardware, but struggle with the software side.  Goal is to at least get an irc server on the thing, maybe with a raspberry pi.

Very cool bridge photos by +MNS Engineers
Our Pitkins Curve Bridge and Rockshed project near Big Sur on California Highway 1 is getting closer to completion. The bridge was constructed using segmental concrete construction, working inward from each end. The center keystone section should be completed very soon.

"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."
