The Friendship House Board of Directors is proud to announce the launch of the organization’s new logo.  Friendship House has grown and expanded services to the Valley over the last 37 years.  The organization’s logo reflects an image that is distinct and easy to identify in our community.  Its design reflects their friendly environment and uses the simple house and handwritten “f” to reinforce their name.  When used in color, the logo conveys warmth and all that’s associated with their bright positive outlook in caring for their residents.  Over the next few months, the logo will be integrated into all promotional materials.
“We have a new logo, but we are still the same Friendship House.” stated Tammy Westwood, Executive Director. “We continue to operate our organization with Dr. Louis Netzer’s vision in mind.  With our dedication to residents first, we have retained many staff for years, and in some cases decades.  This allows us to provide the personalized attention and the continuity of care that residents and families have come to expect and appreciate.”
Over recent years, Friendship House has added programs and services to serve our families and the local community.  They have achieved certification as an Eden Alternative facility which promotes person centered care in a homelike environment. Their Life Enrichment Day Program has expanded to serving 15 seniors 6 days a week 12 hours a day.  Enrichment programs are available to residents and day program participants, including music and memories, conductorcise, art therapy, pet therapy and bell choir.   Many of the programs are funded, in part, by the hard work from activities sponsored by of the Friendship House Auxiliary.
During the past two years, the common areas of the campus have been renovated with new furniture and interior design.  The gardens have been improved to expand the use of drought tolerant plant materials and additional areas that can be used by residents and families to enjoy the out of doors.  During 2015, resident rooms are also being updated with state of the art furniture to assist residents and care givers alike.
Westwood said “Come take a look at the next generation of Friendship House. Stop by for a tour, visit a friend living here, attend an Alzheimer’s support group or educational workshop, or volunteer your talents.  We welcome financial support by making donations, including to the Friendship Fund.  The fund will supplement low income seniors with Alzheimer’s or dementia to be able to reside at Friendship House or attend the day program.”
