Haha! I should have waited to post because your next sentence was about adding interfacing! ;)

European Cross Stitch usually ships within about 6 weeks. It can take longer if things are on backorder. They don't order supplies until they get your order. You will get a shipping notice and the PDF files when they ship. Enjoy your chatelaine! :)

The days in which we live now require heroic Catholicism, not casual Catholicism. We can no longer be Catholics by accident, but instead be Catholics by conviction.

This really is the problem with Protestants. It is all about their choice and where they want to be. The faith should be based on truth and community.

Of course I wouldn't join a church that doesn't have a website. I mean, come on, all of the churches Paul planted obviously had websites or they weren't fit and legit.

This is absolutely horrific.

I've started stitching my dimensions kits with linen or evenweave as long as the stitch count is the same so I won't run out of thread. I would switch to the Monaco. You can always add interfacing if you need more structure. I hope your surgery went well!

+Kristin Choate Thanks!  Surgery did go well.  I'm taking it easy while I get me energy back.  And switching to the Monaco is what I will be doing, and the count is the same, so yay!

If I was making a companion piece, I would use the same fabric count and type of stitch. It would drive me crazy if they were different sizes if they were hung near each other. That said, if it won't bother you, then go for whichever count you like best!

I'm working on a 77 page HAED on 18 count magic guide. I usually get a page done a month, but I'm pretty busy. You'll get it done eventually! Congrats on feeling better! Happy stitching!

Ghost in the House

by Amanda Lewanski, ©2000

Come, child. It's evening. Come to me
And sit with me once more.
Let's rock here while the others sleep.
Let's see-your sister's four;
The baby is three months today;
Your little brother's two,
And I have not decided if I'll tell them about you.

And you, you would be eight this year.
I do not know your name.
The color of your eyes, or hair,
Or where, or how, to blame.
The fear was all, the fear of change,
For I saw change as loss.
Against my dreams, my plans, my life
You seemed so small a cost,
Not knowing how your presence
Altered how I felt and thought,
Not knowing how you changed me
In the mix the hormones brought.
And you were not a child to me
But sickness, pain, and fear-
But oh, I know, I know you now,
Now that these three are here!
Your scent, your weight within my arms,
Your head upon my breast-
I did not know these things when I decided what was best.

And I am lost and so confused
And don't know how to feel,
For you, who were an illness,
Every year become more real;
Your sister and your brothers,
They proclaim you as they grow.
They make it harder still to face
The coldest truth I know:
That knowing-feeling-only
What I knew and felt back then,
I cannot say I would not make
This saddest choice again.
Oh! My little lost unknown,
My first and neverborn,
Forgive the ignorance that sent you
To the dark, unmourned!

And no, it isn't every day
I find your shadow here;
Most times I'm far too busy
For reflection or for tears,
But sometimes, when the children sleep
And I have time alone,
I sit down in the dark, and rock,
And bring my baby home.

Just thought I would pass this on...

Dear Friends,

Barely a second went by today without praying for and thinking about the mother scheduled for an abortion on Thursday who is 20 weeks pregnant. The Holy Spirit led me to trusted counsel who suggested fasting. I want to know we have done everything possible to intervene for their lives. I do believe that everything that can be done is being done. Many of you on this list so lovingly offered to adopt this child and help this mother. That is why I love Pro-Life people.

Since this is primarily spiritual warfare, I am asking those who may be in a position to fast on Wednesday, to join me. The bible is abundantly clear on the power of fasting. We must focus solely on God and loosen the hold Satan has on this young mother. I will be sure to pass along any information I am given.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God - cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

For LIFE
