"OK, Google. I guess I should have known."
You were drunk. You spoke to your Android phone and said, "OK Google, where's the nearest pizza place?" Well, Google kept that audio file.

Do I own my Instagram photos?

And can a photographer get away with selling screenshots of other people's Instagrams for $90,000?
Yes, you own your Instagram photos. But people might be able to steal your stuff anyway.

The IRS can't protect taxpayers. This is a problem.
Why can't the IRS protect you? Either its too broke -- or it's not spending its $10.9 billion budget the right way.

An IRS hack. Tax fraud galore. Damn it.
A "sophisticated" organized crime syndicate used an app on the IRS website to steal several years of tax forms full of personal financial information for 104,000 Americans.

Clinton made sure encryption was weak. Obama is doing the same thing. That's a problem.
A shortsighted technology law is coming back to haunt us -- in the form of a software weakness that exposes you to hackers.

Once again, PayPal is blocking fundraising for political activism.

Last time it was Wikileaks. Now it's Russian opposition activists.
Russian opposition activists want to reveal Russian military involvement in Ukraine, and they're raising money to publish a report. But PayPal has blocked their account.

No more Google Map Maker! Damn you, pranksters.
Google will no longer allow public edits to Google Maps with its Map Maker app. Someone created an Android robot peeing on an Apple logo, Google stepped up its review process, and now it can't keep up.

These are the absolute best cigars I've ever had. They're rolled by hand in an unairconditioned room by experienced Cubans. My favorite is named after the longtime (now retired) Miami Herald photographer Tim Chapman. If you order it, ask for "Tim's blend." But beware, you'll have to pronounce it "Teem."
