Outlet of a barbecue chain serving wood-smoked meats & sides in an American West-themed space.- Google
"The food was excellent as always, but they advertise barbecue and blues."
"They have live bands most nights as well, so the ambiance is very relaxing."

I have been going to this location on Sunday nights for years to hear blues and eat bbq. I recently visited and took my father there on a Sunday night for his birthday. To my dismay I discovered that they got rid of the Sunday night blues jam because of new management. So throughout the night I was force to listen to top 100 90s hits, and that is pretty lame. I also discovered that they are no longer truly smoking there ribs. Any real bbq fanatic knows that real smoked ribs turn pink when they are smoked. These ribs were not truly smoked the meat was white and tough. I would say they were baked or boiled and thrown on a grill. Its sad. this place used to be awesome. It is obvious to me that the new management knows nothing about bbq, or the music that bbq enthusiasts enjoy. I will not be going back.

It's very OK. It's.a typical corporate BBQ place with really strong branding that maybe outshines the food. It's on the level of Cheescake Factory, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, or other mass marketing food spots. There's nothing terrible, but there's also nothing that I tried where I lost my mind in amazement. For that area of uptown, I think there are way better options nearby. My coworkers love this place.

Went there at about 5pm on Monday Feb 16. Sat at bar for over a half hour with an empty drink. The bartender was too busy talking to his friends. Came off as arrogant & was the worst bartender I've ever had. Went upstairs instead for a 2nd drink, where we were actually acknowledged by the staff.

Good location, lots of live events and always quality and consistent food. Their lunch specials are great, and their restaurant is super large! Best bread pudding ever and there's nothing like Famous' ribs :) Staff is always pleasant.

Dave's may not make THE best BBQ in town, but it is definitely the best BBQ *place* in town. This is not like the FD's "Rib Shacks" that you see all over the place; this is similar food in a sit-down restaurant format. Nobody else has the atmosphere, table service, full bar, large space, and occasional live entertainment like they do. The entertainment is usually pretty good, but makes it hard to talk; it's good place to go with large groups and/or kids as long as you avoid the bands. If you consider food alone, Q-Fanatic in Champlin still wins in my book.

Went for dinner the night they had a band with a cover charge. We paid the cover, didn't receive 'tickets', left before the band started, and they tried to scam me out of getting my cover back since I didn't have the tickets. Be vigilant.

WORST BRUNCH EVER!!! We have been going to brunch at Famous Dave's for over a decade. It has never been this bad and we will not being going back again. We had to yell to speak to each other over the really, really, really, really bad LOUD country music. Nothing says relaxing brunch like screaming at each other over country music at a blues bar. The harmonica was worse than fingernails down a chalkboard. The highlight was when the band finally took a break after about 2 hours (when we were about to leave). The only people who liked the band were obviously there just to see them since they were right in front, dancing away to every tune while getting drunk. So 5 people seemed to enjoy the music. There were staff all over but dirty dishes piled up on our table. We got extra waters no one asked for but couldn't get a glass for the Bloody Mary bar. Well, at least we didn't get charged for the drink that was ordered but never came. The lemon bars didn't really taste like lemon. Much of the fresh fruit wasn't ripe enough. The guy replenishing the fresh fruit splattered the juices over anyone who was near the table (like my mom) since he was just slapping fruit down as fast as he could. The prime rib was great if you got any meat; most of it was fat. $23? For that? What a rip off! Brunch didn't used to be so expensive. It used to be better food and service. Considering that the quality of food has gone down while prices almost doubled since Famous Dave's has been doing Sunday brunch, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone except someone I really dislike. Save yourself money and exasperation... go to Perkins. Seriously. Perkins sucks too, but you won't have to yell to make yourself heard and the food is only slightly worse than what is served at Famous Dave's. It will be much less expensive, parking won't be a nightmare (or cost ya another $10), and you won't need a Xanax (or loan) to get through the meal. Better yet, go to Chez Daniel in Bloomington. At least it is worth the expense and you won't leave deaf and disappointed.
