I walked into Michaels with the Sweet Wife today, just to see how bad it could be… It was like a head-on collision at interstate speeds between a Hobby Lobby truck and a Dollar General truck. The horror!

Tom Peters linked to this Wikipedia page this morning: Wikipedia – List of Cognitive Biases As I read through them, I was struck by the fact that not only am I susceptible to all of them, but many also double as heuristics – or ways that we can “cheat”…

Bright, clean, friendly, helpful, excellent equipment. I'm so glad that our washer was down for a few days so that I could meet Judy and know that Lora's is there if any of my friends ever need it.

I really like this place. It is a little more expensive than the big box stores, but the staff really cares about the customer, and they will do more and go further than any drone at a big corporate store will. They will also special order for you, and I have even known them to start carrying a new product just because I told them that I would start buying it from them if they would carry it!

A wonderful break from a long drive. The soup of the day came as a delicious surprise, followed by spaghetti, which I was again surprised to find on the menu. The burgers and meatball sandwich delighted the others. The staff was friendly and pleasant without being intrusive into our conversation. Overall, delightful.

Not open long (11:00-1:45 and 5:00-7:45), but it fills up as soon as the door opens.
