Car service is okay but don't expect anything great. The employees are all wonderful even though one time the mechanic who came to alert me to a few problems made me feel like an idiot for not wanting to spend money on needed service. If there were a better Toyota place in Ann Arbor for regular maintenance I would not use Dunning. I sometimes have crossed the state border into Ohio in search of better maintenance service from Toyota dealers. Dunning is limited in its offerings, is crowded, but the service is decent and reliable. My alternative suggestion for good maintenance in Ann Arbor is Suburban, no matter what car you drive. Suburban have been wonderful for me.

This review pertains to the sales floor experience, not to any other aspect of the dealership. I made an appointment for a test drive 5 days in advance. The dealership confirmed the appointment three separate times, by email and by phone the morning of. When I arrived for my "appointment," the receptionist told me that the sales rep was busy with another customer, and then went back to answering the phones. While I pondered whether to march back and announce my own arrival, he got up and disappeared into a back office. While I waited, I tried to approach a number of staff during their brief inter-office forays across the sales floor. They avoided me (and all the other customers loitering on the floor). After fifteen minutes, the rep had not returned, so I decided to leave. The receptionist was still too busy with the phones to talk to me, so I phoned from on the sales floor. I said I was canceling the appointment because it had not been honored. Not surprisingly, she made no apology. I'm still waiting on an apology from the dealership. Not that it matters - clearly the only thing that mattered to them was in-progress sales, so I let some other dealership sell me a car instead.

The service department manager made racist comments about his Korean employee, by way of explanation as to why they couldn't find my car after service. He said "Koreans are lazy." He also accused me of using recycled oil and that's why my engine failed (I always go to Valvoline Instant Oil, and the most certainly do NOT use recycled oil). I had to complain to the district Toyota manager to get the warranty coverage for the engine replacement. Before I bought the car, going to test drive a vehicle here, the salesperson insisted on driving in the car for the test drive, and he positively reeked of cologne and cigarettes. My daughter complained of being nauseous from the smell after the test drive. Very unhappy with this dealer. Will NEVER return.

Reduced price of part. I commented on this dealer with some negitive comments earlier this week. Today, I took my Tundra pickup in to have a power steering hose installed. I was upset at the price Dunning charged me *until* I talked to the service man, Matthew Trout. He showed me the hose and I saw that it was much more then *just a hose*. It was a combination of tubes, hoses and fittings. I showed Matthew a price I had gotten of an internet site that was cheaper. He took the time to check the same site, informed me they charged a shipping fee I had not included. After deducting the shipping charge, Matthew was willing to reduce the price on the hose for me, to my satisfaction. Also, the estimated 3 hour repair time actually took about 2 hours also saving me labor charges. My attitude toward Dunning Toyota has completely changed. I would recommend this dealership for any service anyone needs. Also, if your looking to buy a new or used vehicle, this is the first place I would check. If they go beyond expectations to satisfy one customer, like me, I'm positive they would for all. Pleasure doing business with them. Richard Southworth Jerome, MI.

Zach Dunning was my salesman and Matt Walsh was my Sales/Finance manager. I would like to say they did an excellent job of selling me a vehicle that suited my family perfectly. I had an excellent experience in purchasing a 2011 Toyota Sienna SE Minivan with my 2 year old son. It was not stressful at all, they we very patient and helpful. I am very impressed with how well they do their job. Knowing people is a big part of their business and I really think they deserve to be acknowledged for not only knowing the business aspect, but the people aspect as well. I also love my van. It handles extremely well, is very comfortable for all 7 of us, the turning radius is a major plus and I really like the windshield visibility. I am also pleased with the price I paid for the vehicle. Thank you.

I'm extremely disappointed with Dunning Toyota. After collecting quotes from multiple dealers, they promised to match the best price I received. I took time off of work to go to their dealership, but when I arrived, they told me they couldn't honor the promised price. They tried to raise the price after I arrived, and were smug enough to tell me it wasn't worth my time to go to another dealer, now that I was already with them. In addition, the sales person told me multiple times that I should pay more so he could get a better commission. I'm astounded they maintain a customer base, with these terrible business practices. If at all possible, buy from another Toyota dealer. I'm buying from Page Toyota in Southfield. It's a longer drive, but they were professional, helpful, honest and upfront.
