In case you were wondering what the GOP candidates want in a debate host....
Since Kennedy destroyed Nixon in the 1960 Presidential Debate (unless you were listening on the radio, in which case Nixon smashed Kennedy) a great deal of thought has gone into how debates are structured and the subtle detai...

Apparently the Palin clan was involved in a 20 person drunken brawl at an "Iron Dog/Snowmachine party," whatever that is.  The sources on this seem scattered and the account is difficult to piece together but Addicting Info s...

Wait, are you screwing with the saruration and light balance or did they actually get temporary red and green hair dye?! Given how WELL the hues blend with the background I'm kinda guessing PS but... It is wacky Wednesday...

This should be fun to watch....
It is rare that this blog, leftist as it is, agrees with much of anything that Karl Rove has to say but before being Leftist I strive to be a Pragmatist and in this I have to give Karl a tip of the hat.  His editorial in the ...

There is something profoundly unsettling about the raft of political pundits and play-callers who seem absolutely sure of themselves as to what the Obama administration and the US Government more broadly should do about Syria...

Just so we're clear on the history here...
Since the shooting of nine parishioners in a church in South Carolina by a self-avowed white supremacist earlier this month a great deal has been said and written on the subject of the Confederate Flag and its place in Americ...

Correction: The story of the video from 2010 (from Robertson's appearance at a church in PA) was in the Saturday edition of the NY Daily News, not the Post.

If things don't change dramatically in Washington we're about to see one of the most idiotic political moves in a generation play out on the Hill.
Unless something very significant changes in Washington in the next 12 hours or so the US government is going to start shutting down in in the early hours of Tuesday morning in a last-ditch attempt to keep from defaulting on ...

The hits just keep on coming from the Republican Party, both in Washington DC and, apparently, in Richmond.  Virginia plays host to the only competitive Governor's race this year and as things heat up national attention is fo...

I can't decide if this country's complete failure to maintain an even moderately informed discussion on chemical weapons leaves me angry or just disappointed.
This post on PolicyMic is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.  There are many, many good reasons for the United States to avoid involvement in the Syria situation, not the least of which is that the people we would be aiding - ...

If you're going to feed the ducks, park over by Solitude. If you're in this more for the pond, greenery, and walking trails, park over on Duck Pond Drive. The Solitude side usually has a lot more of the duck and goose population and all that goes with it.

Dumplings are on point but given how popular this place is with a bunch of the students I've talked to, I feel like I'm missing something.

Pretty standard starbucks but the parking lot is a nightmare. Try to avoid parking in the corner if you're not super comfortable maneuvering your car in tight spaces.

Great place for toddlers - open gym is a godsend on a wet winter day. Make sure you call ahead though, hours are unpredictable. Also, there's a "parents' night out" towards the beginning of each month.
