The Whiskey was amazing! Great selection, knowledgable staff, fun atmosphere, reasonably priced. The food is mediocre at best. No amount of high end ingredients could mask the shoddy preparation. The mac and cheese was overcooked and over cheesed (didn't think this was possible, it is). The tomato salad was an odd mix of food stuffs including popcorn, it didn't really work. The chicken was good, but the pieces were tiny. We were really disappointed, especially considering the price point. The service was slow and nonchalant, despite the fact that there were 8 employees serving a mostly empty restaurant. Bottom line. Get food elsewhere, then stop by Hard Water for some great whiskey.

Bar staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was friendly. Food was great - nice selection of southern dishes to share. The selection of Whiskey was incredible (and reasonably priced) and they did a mean Old Fashioned. Would definitely go again.

Had a blast. Really nice atmosphere, almost to much of choice but really knowledgable staff will leave you feeling and tasting the real deal! Delicious Mac N Cheese & Fried chicken ... OMG, loved it and would come again when in SF.

Came here for their endless amount of whiskey's but ended up ordering two Pimm's cups! It was so refreshing and delicious. The mac n' cheese is divine and super good. We also tried the fried okra and asparagus. Both were OK. I would come back to try the chicken and pig cracklings. I would also recommend calling in for a reservation as this place is not big at all. It frees up quickly and we came in after work on a Friday. Until next time!

As a whisky lover, I had to stop in and try this place. Nice selection of whisky, good prices. Food is okay and a bit over priced. Ordered the pork belly cracklings and the alligator. Not fabulous, just okay. I may stop in again to try something else off their menu.

Definitely a spot for bourbon lovers! This is a great place to go if you enjoy sampling a wide variety of bourbon whiskey. They offer a diverse and expansive menu of classic, hard to find and impossible to find bourbons for your enjoyment in 1oz or 2oz pours. In addition, there is a fantastic whiskey flight menu that allows you to try a variety of similar aged bourbons. After you've had a chance to wet your whistle the fried chicken is fantastic. Oysters are outstanding way to connect to the local waters in the nearby Embarcadero as well. Enjoy!

This is a good spot to bring a date or friend that appreciates his or her whiskey. The food is fine but a bit overpriced, you should be coming here for the alcohol. Go at night so you don't watch all the tourists flock by, and take a walk by the water after a drink and appreciate the lights of the city and the Bay Bridge. It is recommended you stay classy here.
