The Vermonters for Liberty annual meeting is a gathering in the legislative chamber for our state. Vermont has a tradition of independence going back to the the early Republic of Vermont. It's a time to check the path the Green Mountain State is on today, and see how it could be more aligned with personal freedom and responsibility.
We welcome our friends elsewhere in the region to join us for the day, too, to build communication networks for cooperation across borders, and to share ideas that have worked elsewhere for positive change.
Ideas for building the future "Self-Rule Without Rulers" with Terry Bouricius, and "Transactions Without Banks" with Doug Smith. Hear about sortition, a system of representative democracy that replaces elections with a system more similar to jury duty. Learn how distributed, encrypted ledgers and cryptocurrency can bring about more economic freedom.
Short break-out session by county, followed by lunch and the 'soapbox' presentations We are including a 15-minute breakout session by county in the House chamber right before lunch so you can get to know your liberty-loving neighbors and make plans to follow up after the them the meeting. After the breakout session, we'll move to the state house cafeteria for a potluck/ BYO lunch. We'll have our traditional 'soapbox' period, when anyone can have a few minutes before the crowd to present what's on their mind.
What Vermont faces in 2015 We are proud to feature Paul Dame, a long-time V4L friend who, on his second attempt, won election to the State House in November of 2014, and is taking his liberty agenda to Montpelier. We are in the process of confirming a speaker with some new ideas in the health care realm. Then, we'll wrap up with an update on some key issues for this biennium for Vermont, and where Vermonters for Liberty will go from here -- it's up to us all to decide.
Please help us pay for the venue for the January annual meeting! Suggested donation for tickets: $10 per person, $5 for students, children under 12 free.
