Watched "Strangers on a Train" for the first time just now. For a movie that spends so much time agonizing over a murder or two, the sheer consequence-free carnage caused by police incompetence in this one scene was quite jarring. It was a relief to hear that, despite the writing credit, Raymond Chandler had virtually nothing to do with the script that was filmed.

Also, Robert Walker is clearly the ur-Kevin Spacey.
