Hey and Howdy,

Just checking in and letting the folks I am about as sore as I have ever been... That includes after football practice...well I think that now.

The reason? Yeah, we are building a deck on the back side of the house. Concrete work is killer on an old bod like this ole cowboy has... Only about 10 more posts and span supports to put in. Any concrete workers willing trade time for goats? LOL

The reward will be when we are able to host and have some rest and relaxation on the new deck.

Keep the posts coming and great work, Bill and Joyce, you are doing so dang well at holding down the fort while I play some hooky.

Here's a fun little goat video collection. I really like the one titled, "Anyone's guess...

Enjoy. And yes, we are still adding to our collection of goats, building fence, a deck and installing a door...We are now up to 38 with another 10 kids coming in about 2 weeks...

Just a little kidding around last night for Dutchess... I bet she didn't think that when this half grown kid was finally born!

So we woke up this morning to a Bonus baby from Dutchess... How cool is that?  Yeah, we are calling him Bonus...lol    Way to go, girl! The count is now 37...and the numbers keep growing....

So here are a few pics of the goat gardeners of the outback. This first paddock is our 'training' pen. This is where the little guys learn about electric fencing. This is necessary to keep out predators like coyotes, bobcats, pumas and mountain lions.

We will soon have a llama to add to the security system as well.

Notice the little balls of natural fertilizer that will feed the grasses. They won't see this same paddock until the grasses have grown back and have seed heads on them. Their little hooves til the earth and plant the seeds.

The next paddock they move to will be much smaller, but they will only spend a day there. We are putting together rolling paddocks for the goat gardeners to transform our little piece of Eden back to grasslands. (No tethering required....lol)

Back in da saddle again....Hey and Howdy to all my Hangout buddies. Let me fill you in about what's kept me busy over the past while.

First I got to be in an A&E series called Longmire as a background actor (first time for everything). I was cast as a truck driver and I got to be at a truck stop as a John... and that was not my name, it was my role.  lol  I got to pickup up a few ladies of the evening and even got busted for it by the local sheriff... What a blast. Only problem it the filming happened from late afternoon to early morning... So I burned the candle at both ends...Here's the link to check it out:

I even got to meet Lou Diamond Phillips of La Bamba fame. That was pretty cool for an old cowboy to meet a famous Indian!

And I have been busy building fence and acquiring goats from allover New Mexico to build up the herd and get to transforming the outback back to grasslands. I will be posting pics and probably building a new website along the way if this is half as successful and we think it will be.

It's great to have a little time to get back on and rub elbows with all you great Hangout peeps. Keep up the great work guys.

Whatever you do... Don't let your kids see this. Especially if they are under 5 years of age. That goes for the grandkids, too!

Enjoy the video of the day, folks.

Cats and dogs fight like...well cats and dogs! It is possible to introduce a new kitten into the pack? Lorena explains the process so well.
