Germination and cultivation.

Plant seed 3 inched into a cactus mix with added perlite for additional drainage. Raising the seed bed temperature to 85 degrees F will help germination rate and speed. Germination may take from two to six weeks. I have had plants come up two years after planting.

Water soil mixture before it dries out. Damp not wet is the rule of thumb. Wet soil will cause rot fairly quickly.

Seedlings should be placed in intermittent full light or indirect sun for the first few feet of growth. Placing the seedlings in full sun will speed growth but the soil should not be left to dry.

Fertilize frequently with common potted plant fertilizer.
