I'm Leigh and I'm a Geekoholic.
Are you the geekiest person you know?
Due to working on computers all day as a job and because I enjoy it, I'm constantly looking for ways to improve my productivity. Over the last 6-12months I've been converting to programs/window managers that allow me to do everything I want using only the keyboard.
Traditionally my mrs and I have shared user accounts however she isn't happy with not being able to control the computer with the mouse and I'm now having to set her up her own user account. However me being myself I'm not happy with this, if I'm going to set up a new user account I'm going to put the /home directory on it's own partition (I like to switch os's twice yearly) and if I'm going to that hassel I'm going to set up a proper sync between all of the pc's, rather than crappy dropbox (good for it's own thing but doesn't suit my needs anymore, and it's just too insecure).
If I'm going to set up a new sync I'm also going to take the 25GB of photo's the mrs has on our nas and put them in her profile to by synced across computers also. they're like 7MB/pic and she can't browse them properly wirelessly, the sync solution also needs to be automatable somehow and cross platform, thatms going to require some research.
I figure I should also just wipe the os to get a clean start and maybe switch my debian box to arch whilst I'm at it.... then I realise.... I really need to find some friends :( unfortunately all of this isn't a one off, this is just how I seem to spend all of my time when I'm not working.
I figure all of the socialites/extroverts are still over on facebook so the opposite should be true here. if you're the geekiest computer nerd you know, add a comment with the geekiest thing you've done recently. It might make me feel better or at least help justify this type of behavior for a little longer.
The truth is, I'm Leigh and I'm a geekoholic.
