What does the third-party developer think about Facebook's moves?

I spent almost an hour with Gowalla's +Josh Williams tonight. You can listen in here: http://cinch.fm/scobleizer/289173 We cover a whole range of things, including how he views Facebook's moves, what competing with Foursquare's +Dennis Crowley is like and where he thinks the future of location-based services is. Of course he talks about Gowalla's latest moves too.

This is a fascinating look inside the mind of an entrepreneur trying to make something happen and who is in the middle of a major pivot (i.e. he was beaten in the marketplace by Dennis, so needs to find another reason to exist).

We also walked around the Ritz tonight and shot a bunch of photos together during a really sweet sunset: http://gowalla.com/stories/4WcWv

This is a good one to listen to if you want to understand how Facebook's moves are being perceived by the third-party developer community.

Waiting on the traffic to die down on the way home after a long day so i pull in for a cup of Joe. Ya know, I just noticed how noisy a Starbucks really is. There are whistles, beeps, motors running, grindings and all sorts of various noises......how is anyone supposed to get any sleep around here. Cat naps while reading my iPad on a soft comfy sofa still Rulez!!!!

Want to be good at something (maybe everything)? Stop doing stupid sh*t says, Josh Infiesto: http://bit.ly/oxFSPW An interesting read. Has anyone else tried Josh's "technique"? Seems like the man in this .GIF could use Josh's advice.

Speculation is out that Apple may not release the iPhone 5, but rather an iPhone "4S" with iOS 5 in September, with an 8 Megapixel Camera - Big Whoopie Apple!!! Only realistic to the average person if your printing pics, otherwise you'll never notice the difference. But we all know that Apple is VERY secretive, so they still could surprise us.

Dude, not that I'm using this but Pogoplug (Google it to see info) is a cheaper alternative to "Paying" for backup cloud services for only a one time charge of $39. Unlimited data storage, streaming music, videos, and pics and ALL your devices are compatible. I'm using a NAS with Pogoplug cloud technology built in. Last I heard, the Pgogplug can support up to 3Tb and there's a Pro version for $99 that has a faster processsor and built in wireless with Gen 2 technology.
