Great news.  No more having to manually clear Maven snapshot dependencies from ivy cache.

Join in the fun: the Grails48 hackerthon, running 9th - 11th November, has gone global. Find a venue near you or join a team online and have some fun coding with like-minded individuals.

Whether you're experienced or a beginner, you'll get something from this event. Learn from others how to write Grails apps or stretch yourself by trying out new technologies like the Platform Core event bus. This is your event.

Netflix recently open-sourced one of their Grails applications, Asgard. The Grails podcast interviewed +Carl Quinn and +Joe Sondow about Asgard a few months ago, so why not go and hear about their experiences working on the project?

I guess this is a problematic release. I didn't seem to upgrade from the previous version properly.

We just released three version of +Groovy in the same day!
Groovy 2.0.1, Groovy 1.8.7 and the last Groovy 1.7.11.

In particular, I'd like to stress out all the bug fixes of the new Groovy 2 features in the 2.0.1 release. Be sure to upgrade to have the latest and best!

Groovy is very nice, and your work on it is excellent - thanks! (and, kudos for pulling off a release hat trick)

I've been using Spring since 2004...I'm hoping that I'll glean some new techniques and tips for testing (Spock and new 2.x Mixins), SpringData, best practices for putting a Grails app into production...and getting a chance to meet some of the folks whose software I've relied on for development.

Grails is an advanced and innovative open source web application platform.
Introduction
Grails is an advanced and innovative open source web application platform that delivers new levels of developer productivity by applying principles like Convention over Configuration. Grails helps development teams embrace agile methodologies, deliver quality applications in reduced amounts of time, and focus on what really matters: creating high quality, easy to use applications that delight users. Grails naturally complements Java application development since it is built on Spring and based on Groovy, the leading dynamic language for the Java platform.
