Description:

The AMP Initiative is a process developed to determine the most economical project – A Better Way of Doing Things. Projects built to Code trade substantial long term savings for the lowest year-zero capital costs. Projects built arguably to the highest standard (Passive House) intend to trade the substantial long terms savings for the increased year-zero capital costs. The goal of the AMP process is to determine the ‘sweet spot,’ between the lowest and highest standards, by finding the balance between long term savings and capital costs. The process augments the traditional design team – it does not replace anybody. AMP leverages the strengths of the entire team. Deliverables – better choices at the earliest opportunity, a detailed life cycle cost analysis, and a comparison of choices of materials and systems versus resource conservation (energy, water, future work) in relation to the Total Cost of Ownership. AMP applies to existing buildings, renovations and new construction.
