This basement needed a functional family office. To suit their needs I installed drawers and cabinetry for storage, durable quartz countertops, an upholstered pin board for notes and puck lights to ease eye strain.

I’m infatuated with York Wallcoverings MARQUISE, a classic motif embroidered on metallic backed sisal. Love at first sight! Click here to see all 4 colors of MARQUISE http://bit.ly/2qMwvX2 #COxYork

For the high contrast that makes a modern scheme feel crisp and clean, I used a mottled cream color stone composite for this countertop, tub decking and shower enclosure. Gorgeous green glass tile laid in a retro-inspired pattern adds a splash of color to the walls in the wet zones and gives a nod to the historic character of the house.

Neutral colors create a peaceful environment but I like to give neutral palettes life by adding loads of texture, shimmer and shine.

For kitchen flooring that would be comfortable for standing and still be impervious to wear and tear, I chose cork. It’s eco-friendly, soft underfoot, and self-healing. Many small scratches or dents will seal back up over time.

Inspired by dappled sunlight through a canopy of leaves, York Wallcoverings pattern SYLVAN is quietly luxurious. Textural, dimensional and light reflecting. A stunning wallcovering! Click here to see all 5 colors of SYLVAN. http://bit.ly/2q1GgxQ #COxYork

Work spaces are becoming more commonplace within my renovation projects. Although each client has unique needs, here are some general guidelines I follow: LIGHTING. Make sure the lighting is appropriate for your function to cut down on eye strain. SEATING: Invest in a chair that will support your back for hours on end. Well worth the investment! FUNCTION: Ask lots of questions to provide the storage, work surface and shelving needs for a smooth workflow.

Another home office, this one designed so my client can enjoy an outdoor view while working at her desk.

This is what you get when you marry traditional with contemporary styles. Traditional to suit the character of the house and contemporary details to reflect my client’s fashion-forward sensibility.
