Introduction
Jonathan Barrera Mikulich is the owner of Latino Branding Power, an award-winning blog and marketing consultancy dedicated to providing culturally relevant strategies that connect brands with today’s Hispanic communities.

Jonathan is a West Michigan based marketing communications professional and has over twenty years experience in design communications, brand management, community relations, and strategic planning. He has worked with a roster of clients that includes BDO Seidman, Bench & Field, J.D. Power and Associates, and the Knoll Group. Jonathan has also become a respected thought leader as well as a prevalent speaker and consultant about Hispanic marketing and branding.

In 2005, Jonathan took a personal hiatus to Mexico and Puerto Rico, immersing himself within Spanish language and Latin American culture. These experiences motivated him to pursue a career in Hispanic marketing upon his return to the U.S. In Mexico, Jonathan connected with family members in Michoacán, the region where his maternal grandparents immigrated from several years ago. He also had the opportunity to work within the local advertising industry in Mexico, learning about marketing communications from a unique multicultural perspective.

Jonathan holds a Master of Business Administration from Ferris State Universityas well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Communication. He has a professional certification in Hispanic Marketing Communications from Florida State University‘s renowned Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication, as well as an Advanced Studies Certification in Design and Innovation Management fromKendal College of Art and Design through Ferris State University.

Currently, Jonathan is a co-founder and director of brand strategies at Vias Latino Market Consultants. He is also a member of the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and has served on the boards of the Mexican Heritage Association and AIGA West Michigan. Jonathan is an aspiring musician and lives with his wife Evelyn, an education administrator, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
