Got two minutes ? Relax. Escape.
Mel & I really enjoyed our weekend of bicycling in the Little Rock area. Bicycles are welcome & accepted in the communities there. Our stay at The Rosemont was delightful thanks to Susan Maddox & her staff.

Beaumont, Texas streets are already unsafe for bicycle commuters.  New surfaces on Dalaware just made things infinitely worse !
Is this legal?  They cite drainage, but this trench is scarcely larger than a gutter on a home.   The depth and narrowness of this trench is a guarantee that any cyclist who falls in will crash.  Since posting this video, grass cutters and landscape maintenance folks have mentioned a difficulty with twisted ankles when working along the curb on that roadway.  "It's dangerous enough without this . . ."

This is my favorite of dozens of videos, so far.  Maybe because I love boardwalks & bridges.  Ride with me on the boardwalk over the recreated wetlands area in the Clinton Presidential Park in Little Rock, ARkansas.  The statue at the end of the video is actually at the entrance of the boardwalk.  The Presidential Park is a great place to visit.  It even has an adjacent adult book store & cigar shop.

This old RailRoad bridge has been converted to a bicycle pedestrian bridge.  It connects North Little Rock, AR to the Presidential Park.  In North Little Rock, there is a  glorious 8.2 mile paved trail that connects to the Big Dam Bridge.  Riding back thru Little Rock is dicey as they are obviously much less committed to the outdoor lifestyle.  Much of the journey from The Big Dam Bridge to the Presidential Park is on the road with cars.

Bicycling the "Big Dam Bicycle Pedestrian Bridge" in Little Rock, AR.  This is the park at the base of The Bridge, pedaling up one side and a brief look around.
