Only a few days left until the start of RailsCampGermany 2014.
To get an impression of last year's awesomeness have a look at my retrospective blog post http://2014.railscamp.de/news/2014/08/18/my-first-rails-camp.html.

The session page (http://2014.railscamp.de/contribute/session-planning.html) is still waiting for your ideas. Have a look at the other suggestions, and get inspired. What will be your session?

Did you buy your ticket already? If not: Go to http://2014.railscamp.de/tickets/, choose your ticket prize (we recommend 25,00 €, but of course we offer „Pay what you want!“) and become the next participant of RailsCamp Germany 2014

See you all in late September!
And keep spreading the news – hashtag #rcg14!

To Lesson 5.3 (http://liris.cnrs.fr/ideal/mooc/lesson.php?n=053) I have a question: -> The policy coupling at the level of which the robot's policy is carried out (Line 2 in Figure 53). This coupling is defined by the set of primitive interactions specified by the designer of the robot.
Is there literature on robots without need of predefined actions/reaction. The RI has no predefined goal but predefined Interactions, which leads to some limitations...

Yes, the question of extending predefined interactions with fine graded actions  is a good question that is still open to research.
Our key intuition is that the robot should "fine tune" interactions in the three dimensional real space as opposed to the multi dimensional space of the robot's multiple degrees of freedom. This is how we envision coping with the complexity of the robot's possibilities of movement.
We introduce this idea in the last paragraph of page  #IDEALMOOC064 : "The Intention data structure could also include spatial information allowing the agent to specify the position in which it intends to enact an interaction"

I was joking.

There is no "best" language. There is only a language that fits the project requirements and personal preferences of the development team.

Hi zusammen,

[...]
We are working on a ddj project about Berlin Wall due to its 25th
anniversary. The idea is to obtain data related with Berlin Wall, the
divided city of Berlin, East Germany and West Germany from 1961 to 1989.
I have taken a look of Destatis adn BerlinDaten portals but I have not
found so much data during these years (1961-1989). We have data about
population and some about economic aspects, but we need more.

So, we ask for your advice if you have any idea or knowledge about where
we can find some data related with these topics, and data that let us to
compare in time (from 1961-1989) East and West Germany, and both Berlins.

Some data we are interested in:
-Wall crossing deaths: time, type and location. (1961-1989)
-Any data related with the proccess of reunification (Treuhandanstalt)
(1989- ...) Data related with privatizations and so on.
-Price of essential food products (like bread, milk...) (1961-1989)
-Purchasing power or Salaries of both countries (DDR/BRD) (1961-1989)
-Populaton density of Democratic and Federal Berlin and Germany.
(1961-1989)
-Birth and death rates of DDR and BRD, Democractic Berlin and Federal
Berlin (1961-1989)
-Waiting time to buy a car or any other stuff in DDR.

So if you can help me or give some tips to find the data I am looking
for I would be really grateful.

Join the 6th edition of RailsCamp Germany in Cologne!
The crowd-organised unconference will take place Sept. 26-28.
Meet old and new friends, learn, teach, exchange ideas and experiences, and have tons of fun.

The venue will be Abenteuerhallen Kalk. It's the same awesome indoor climbing/skating place like last year, providing space for lots of techie (talks, workshops) and non-techie (climbing, skating, soccer, basketball) activities.

The Rails Girls will also be present at the event, so it will be a great fit for people that are new to Rails, as well.

Get your ticket now! -->  http://2014.railscamp.de/tickets/
In order to fit everybody's means, the price for the tickets is basically pay what you want. On the one hand, if you are a student, unemployed, or similar we don't want the ticket price from keeping you to attend. On the other hand, if you earn decent money and want to support the Rails community, we want to provide you with a simple way to offer a little bit of extra support.

This event is created by you! So, start thinking about sessions you like to host or you would like to participate.
We are working on providing a tool for collecting your ideas and proposals. It's coming soon - we promise!

Spread the news, and don't forget to use our awesome hashtag #rcg14.
