A seafood restaurant so exclusive, 9 out of 10 fish can’t get it. “If it isn’t fresh, it isn’t Legal!”

We ate at this Legal Sea Foods twice. Once on my dime, the second time on theirs. Because our first visit wasn’t great: Our table’s fish and chips were delivered cold and smelled of stale deep fry grease. Our table’s steak wasn’t the cut advertised. The second time, our server appeared to be on her first ever shift. She knew nothing about the menu and brought my tablemate a medium well stake that was blood red. When questioned about the doneness, she argued with my guest. How embarrassing! My on-the-shell oyster plate was short two compared to the menu, and I didn’t bother to complain. If you want great seafood and great table service, don’t go here. Try another Legal, or better yet another place. With a tab for three over $100, we expect better.

When they opened some ten years ago this place was the best seafood west of Annapolis. However between the rising prices and increasingly mediocre food this place slipped off our list of regular restaurants. Shame really, we need good and affordable seafood. Back to Harris' on Kent Island...
