Heard many great things about Girl and the Goat....who hasn't? This restaurant has been on my list ever since it opened up. Friends keep talking about how wonderful it is and how I have to try it out. I can say that I finally did and my friends weren't lying. Because it takes months to get reservations and my out-of-town friend wanted to eat there during her visit, we just popped in on a Sunday night and were told that the wait would be an hour and a half. We would've waited that long, but we were also offered to sit in the front area with the low couches and coffee table. We opted for that instead because we were hungry! My friend and I ordered about 5 small plates and the waitress shot us a look that blatantly asked "Are you girls sure about that?!" We were very sure and couldn't wait to eat. Each dish came after one another, there was not a single dish that we were not satisfied with. We had the grilled baby octopus, pork shank, the oven roasted pig face, and 2 others that I forgot. Nonetheless, everything was delicious! The pig face was amazing...all the different textures and flavors meshed wonderfully together. I would definitely love to come back again, but would like to actually sit down at a table. Need to make those reservations now!

Having read about this place, Girl & The Goat was on goto list for sometime now. Made sure to visit them during my recent visit to Chi town. First of all it's hard to get a table reservation even few weeks in advance. I opted to get a spot on the bar, had to wait 20 mins to get that spot. They do have a waiting area with comfy sofas while one waits for the table.Ambiance is lovely out here. This place is full of activity and is very spacious. The other side of restaurant has a semi open kitchen where one could see the chefs working hard to dish out the awesome food. The bartender was really helpful and helped me to make selections. The menu is not huge but everything sounds so delicious. Had the following delicacies - * Wood Fired Oysters * Goat Belly * The Pig Face * Date Cake with Almond Halva The oysters were baked at the right temperature, goat belly was small but decent. Pig face was a surprise and ended up the most tasty dish which I had. It had that crunchiness which added a twist to it. Loved the dessert too. With all that food and 2 glasses of wine I was $115(with tip) lighter on my wallet. I would come back.

Girl & The Goat provides an excellent dining experience. The service was impeccable. We received honest recommendations from our server-- much appreciated guidance and direction for the two of us who were having trouble making decisions. Little expensive but well worth the price. Would recommend again and again and again. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Just went to this place last night after hearing about it from a friend and it was PHENOMENAL!!! I just walked in and was told it would be an hour wait for a table but was able to sit on the couches they had and order food. had a few mixed drinks and ordered some empanadas and oysters. I was seated in less than 45 minutes and I think I ordered almost everything on the menu lol. Everything was delicious!!! I would highly recommend this pace to everyone.....

One of the best dining experiences I've had in Chicago! Stephanie Izard has done wonders with this location and it really shows. The tables were placed evenly with plenty of space to move, lighting ambience was perfect and it was fun to be able to see into the kitchen. We were a party of 2 couples, and we made sure to order a number of things to share. My favorite was the Goat Belly, but as the reviews have said, the Pig Face was the favorite of the other couple. There were plenty of vegetarian options, as well, for those not in to all of the meat dishes. The food was prepared expertly and the service was amazing. The server explained everything calmly (especially considering the diversity of options), which was exceptionally appealing to our group. The bill came and it wasn't super exorbitant, but we expected to pay the premium for late-night Fulton Market area dining. We were able to sit and chat for an extended period and we didn't feel hurried. The one thing that you do need to remember is that you'll need to schedule your reservation about 2 1/2 to 3 months out, if you want a decent time. Use OpenTable and you shouldn't have a problem!

An absolutely must-visit. First off, the ambience is awesome. Secondly, the food is fabulous. Get the Chickpea Fritters as starters - you'll thank me. I had the Wood Oven Roasted Pig Face (and I'm not a super adventurous eater) and it was DELISH. My husband had the Braised Beef Tongue (which sounds unappetizing) but it was awesome, too. It can take forever to get a table here, but you can walk in to, on a weeknight. I'd get there as early as possible (before 6 pm) and if you're a small party of two just eat at the bar.
