Happy Thanksgiving from 2-505! We had our fall fest celebration on Friday where the second graders wrote their own thankful poems, read and illustrated fall poetry, played a math game with candy, created their own leaf using oil pastels, and created a bookmark using fall-colored tissue paper!

We went to the Transit Museum! Our subway researchers learned about why the subway was created in 1904, what workers used to build the subway, what different trains used to look like, and the dangers workers had to face while building the subway tunnels. Ask your researcher what their favorite part of the trip was!

We had our author visit this week in our beautiful, new library! The published author Anica Mrose Rossi, who wrote The Teacher’s Pet, came to talk to us about how she gets her ideas for writing and the process she goes through. She even showed us pictures of books she wrote when she was in elementary school!
