5 Fresh Black Mission Figs 5 Sage Leaves ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 pinch Fleur de Sel (substitute course sea salt) 1 pinch Fresh Ground Black Pepper
o Cut a small shallow slit into 4 sides of each fig. Be careful not to cut into the tip or bottom end. o Cut out the stem of each sage leaf and cut the leaf into quarters lengthwise. o Place figs on a pyrex or other small baking dish. Cover with oil and season with the salt and pepper. o Bake in a 400ºF oven cover for 15 mins, basting frequently. o Let them cool slightly before serving. Serve with the oil it baked in and the juices that come out as it rests.
