We went to Oat Mtn above Simi Valley to work on some repeaters.
1. Installed a new 220 repeater that supports both Analog and D-STAR.
2. Restored D1 with a new frequency
3. Installed a new power amp for analog.

These are pictures from my drive down the hill. Aren't the hills great up there?

I updated the list of DMR Nets. I'm glad to see there are more statewide nets joining the list.

If you have URLs for any of these nets, please send me my way.

Please let me know of there are any additions or corrections.

Guess where I was on Tuesday...

We had a great time hanging out with family, talking about trains and blacksmithing.

Yesterday the MARC ( group was up early and met at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Coastal Challenge Bicycle Ride.

This event had about 700 riders traveling east along the foothills up Hwy 38, across East Fork Road, then back out along Glendora Mountain Road.

MARC had a team of 8 people on motorcycles and in vehicles to provide safety and support. Below is a picture of net control. We had two analog radios and, yes, that is a Motorola XPR5550 DMR radio. This is the first time using DMR during the event. It worked well for us.

This is also the first time we have had a Bicycle Mobile operator, thanks to Rick N6IET. Rick patrolled the section of bike trail near the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Center.

The event was a success. Thanks to all who participated.

I'm trying to find something, a Chromecast feature/app.

I couple of years ago there was a way to run a slideshow through Chromecast. As I recall it showed the images in a tiled view.

The important part of this was a URL where people at the event could upload their own photos and have them added to the show. This URL was on the screen with the slide show.

I don't remember if this was a separate app, part of Google Photos, or what. I feel like it was a Google feature, but it may have been an Android app. I am fairly sure it was tied to a Google Photos album.

Does anyone remember something like this? Can you point me in the right direction? My searches have come up empty so far.

Chromebook Plus
I purchased a Chromebook early in the history of Chromebooks. I have since received a couple more...they seem to collect. I guess they aren't for everyone. I decided to get a  Samsung Chromebook Plus. My initial plan was to wait for the Pro...just have to h...

USB-C Charging
I've had phones with a USB-C port for a while now. My Pixel C tablet also has a USB-C connector. I thought it was nice, I like the physical connector. It seems more durable than MicroUSB and it's a lot easier to plug in. I heard about laptops with USB-C and...
