For me it's Download, tho the line up this year is a little disappointing so far and might try the Isle of White instead :)

Will appeal to fans of First Aid Kit and Lily & Madeleine ... and me!
Listening to:KATZENJAMMER - RocklandAn all-female folk band from Norway, comprised of four sexy ladies playing no less than twenty-odd different instruments between them, swapping between those and musical styles every night on stage. Logic dictates that Katzenjammer’s novelty should have worn off by now. Rockland, however, will make you guess again. Who’d have thought that Katzenjammer would be able to keep things this fresh over the course of...

Cannot recommend Shaun Escoffery highly enough ... without doubt, the best UK soul singer around, and definitely gives his American contemporaries a run for their money.  This is a truly great album
Listening to:SHAUN ESCOFFERY - In The Red RoomIt was actor Idris Elba who convinced Shaun Escoffery that his future career lay in singing and acting. They were best friends in their teens in the East End of London and attended Barking and Dagenham College together. Idris was studying performing arts, Shaun had enrolled in an architectural course, but his friend soon convinced Shaun that he should give it up and do what he really wanted to do - ...

Glorious album harking back to those halcyon days of the 1980s
Listening to:CHROMATICS - DrumlessThe online music press has been heaping a staggering amount of adoration upon Chromatics’ fourth release, Kill for Love. For the most part this obscene reverence has heightened the album to best of 2012 buzz, but some reviews, such as one appearing on British music site Drowned in Sound, have touted Kill for Love’s first few tracks as some of the most perfect, pristine snatches of sound one will ever hear, EVER. ...

A right gem of an album .... moody yet with a great groove that has you nodding along to every track
Listening to:LITTLE AXE - Slow FuseSlow Fuse cuts back markedly on the sweeping sonic experimentation of the critically acclaimed The Wolf That House Built for more vocals and a song-oriented approach built on a foundation of acoustic guitar meeting high-tech studio sound. This time, rather than fashion a musical extension, Skip McDonald apparently set his sights on imagining and re-creating (to a point) the ambience of the Mississippi Delta worl...

Electonic duo who left the 'H' out of their name .... synth-pop with lots of 80s New wave throwbacks
Listening to:KODACROME - AftermathsNice bright colors, the greens of summer? Whoops, that's Kodachrome. Kodacrome, on the other hand, offer nice bright synth melodies, reminiscent of something a stripped-down version of the Human League might do, on songs like "Buggy Bumper" even though vocalist Elissa sings with an understated and detached cool. On "Strike the Gold" though Elissa's vocals are more in the forefront and the cut showcases the beau...

for fans of shoegaze / dream pop / Britpop
Listening to:BLUE HERONS - Blue HeronsKnow absolutely nothing about this band / artist / whoever? It is, however, a jaunty little indie-pop album that won't offend ... reminds me a little of 90s shoegaze with an added Britpop twist

A jaunty little album ... not going to change the world, but some very chirpy tunes
Listening to:LETTING UP DESPITE GREAT FAULTS - NeonA fan writes: A long time ago, probably 1994, a friend and me got caught in this torrential downpour while walking the parking lot at high school. We took cover inside her Ford Taurus and we tried to have a long conversation about nothing and everything to idle the storm’s duration. Well, the rain fell so hard that our conversation was drowned and instead we just turned up the radio and heard mus...

Heavenly Beat started out as a side-project for Beach Fossils' bassist, John Pena. However, he has now left that band to concentrate on these shimmery, chilled, pop songs. This is his third album under the name
Listening to:HEAVENLY BEAT - EucharistHeavenly Beat is the side project of Beach Fossils bassist John Pena. He began writing and performing under the moniker in late 2009, crafting dreamy electro-pop around his gentle vocals. He has now left the band and is concentrating on this project. This is their third album. you can listen to the full album here ...http://youtu.be/GadHYeCA90w

A new band to me but have been around for years, apparently ... an album that repays repeat listenings
Listening to:COSMICITY - Humans May Safely GrazeThe last full-length Cosmicity was Escape Pod for Two in 2003. Now, 11 years later, Humans May Safely Graze retains all that Cosmicity fans love, but kicks it up a notch on every front. If you are a fan Cosmicity's prior work, this album will both soothe and shock you. Everything you loved about Cosmicity is still here... but the production, vocals, mixing and overall package is upgraded to the hilt...
