MSC cruises today announced its return to Malta after an absence of one year. The cruise liner company had dropped Malta from its itinerary because of a rise in fuel prices. The company announced at a press conference aboard the newly-built MSC Preziosa, that it will start operating weekly Malta-to-Malta cruises later on this month.

MSC Cruises has signed an order for two new ships that will become the biggest ever built by a European company. According to MSC, the prototype vessel will be “the biggest cruise ship ever built by a European ship owner”.

This year Viking is christening 16 new Longships as well as two other ships in ceremonies taking place March 17 in Amsterdam, March 18 in Avignon and Rostock, and on March 21 in Porto, Portugal.
