I was so excited to eat finally eat here! I came on a Monday, and the wait was only 20 minutes, not bad for a restaurant, that has just 10 tables. Upon coming inside, the delicious smell emanated the entire restaurant and the space was beautifully lit up by candles. I ordered a half pepperoni and hot pepper and half classic pie and polished the meal off with a garlic calzone. Every thing lived up to my expectations. From the initial greet by the hostess, to the attentive service by the waitress' and my favorite bottle of red wine (BYOB!) Lucali can do no wrong! Thank you for a wonderful experience. I cannot wait to come back!

When we arrived at Lucali we were puzzled by the velvet rope in front of the door. As I recall the hostess opened the door and asked what we wanted. We thought that since we were standing at the door to a restaurant, it was obvious we wanted to eat. Apparently not. Nonetheless we got a table (we made sure to go pretty early). We loved that there are two items (pizzas and calzones) and limited toppings. It made ordering very simple. We dined at Lucali before we gave up meat and cheese so we don't know how it would be for us now, but last fall it was excellent. I can't say it was better than a lot of other pizzas I've had over the years but it was very good. Lucali's decor was great; the open kitchen showed just how fresh the pizzas were. I would go back (this time I'll just ask for no cheese).

Over priced pizza that doesn't even have sauce to the edge(it stops about two inches shy) and good calzones both of which you have to endure long waits and snooty service and crowds to get. Even the owner's mother who I spoke with at the doctor one day thinks the sauce should go to the edge for what they charge.

Able to watch the chef make your pizza from scratch using homemade sauce and freshly sliced vegetables. Outstanding.

Aside for the wait, the pizza was fantastic. Simple and true to its ingredients, flavorful, and included massive bunches of basil on every pie. The staff were friendly and "real" as my high-school students would say.
