Smokin Betty's - Fantastic . Super service and very good food. Loved the healthy grilled veggies. Spiced rubbed chicken was perfect. Only complaint is that the tables need refinishing because they were sticky as if not cleaned.

I have been to Smokin' Betty's a couple of times in the past six months. The food and services were great and the atmosphere was pretty cool. You step in off a busy Philly street corner near Jefferson Hospital and you don't feel like your in the city anymore or rather it's like your in this really cool bubble separated from it. As far as the comment(s) from this guy with the bad party experience... there's a lot of crap there... I did NOT see roaches; I did NOT have lousy service and the food was excellent. Take it that dude is probably dissatisfied wherever you put him. I am just thankful that the next time I go to Betty's he won't be there.

Had one of the best burgers I've ever had here. Great drink selection also.

Smokin' Betty's is a pretty decent place. The environment and decor give a very welcoming and comfortable feeling. There were many tables, an outdoor seating area, two bar areas, and an upstairs seating area as well. It was happy hour along with Philly Sips happening when I came, so there was a wait to be seated and it was pretty crowded. The menu is very American, so it's a great place to go for that classical American cuisine! We had a bunch of items from their appetizer/Philly Sips menu: wings (both their BBQ and dry rub), buffalo chicken quesadilla, and pepperoni pizza. My friends also got the pork belly sliders. The dry rub wings were really good, one of the best wings I ever had, but there were no dipping sauces to it, which was fine. The BBQ wings were actually very sweet, not really BBQ-y. The quesadillas were good; there were melted bleu cheese in them that gave it that extra boost, definitely try those. Pizza was very cheesy, but other than that, it was a typical small pizza. Everything was prepared very aesthetically pleasing, so props to the modern classiness! Food was really good, and there selection of alcohol was just as good. They have a really good selection, and the prices were cheap. The sizes and taste of their mixed drinks, on the other had, were just average. I would definitely come here for a drink or two after work! Service was OK, our host and server were really friendly. Seating was confusing since we put our name down on the waiting list, but they just told us to hang out at the bar until a table was ready for us; we had no idea how they were going to find us or know who we were. I ended up just waiting up front while my friends went to the bar. Our server did have trouble getting to us since it was pretty busy, but I'd just give them the benefit of the doubt that they are usually better.

Had a private party that turned out the be the worst party EVER. For $2,052 we got wings, spring rolls and the cheapest appetizers around for 20 people when 76 paid! (the rest of us got cold veggie burgers and Costco-like cake that one of us got!)...Unfortunately, we were not one of the lucky ones who ate (something!) but we sure paid for this legal robbery. I would have gotten a better meal in the ghetto of SE Philly, even that would have been more entertaining. It was a terrible experience. I recommend just about anywhere else (would you like fries with that?) unless you like cold food, paying for no food, roaches, filthy bathrooms, rude waitstaff and unaccommodating manager/owner. There ain't nuthin' smokin' at this Betty.
