If your weather is no good, watch the #eclipse here!

Hello Space Fans!

Tonight there will be a total lunar eclipse tonight in the Western Hemisphere.

+Scott Lewis  will be heading to Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA to do some on-site outreach with Dr. +Thad Szabo. Internet permitting, we'll be attempting to bring in a live feed of the lunar eclipse from LA and hopefully connect with our friends from the +Virtual Star Party  and bring in feeds from there too!

If you're in the Los Angeles area, you are more than welcome to join us on site. The event starts at 10:30 p.m. PT and parking is free after 10 p.m.

Cerritos College: 11190 Alondra Blvd. Norwalk, CA 90650
Parking Lot C-6 off of Studebaker, just south of Alondra Blvd.

Not local? That's okay too! Share with us your pictures of the eclipse in the event below!

Keep Looking Up!

Curiosity is permeating through the vast desolation. That is just the beginning... great job.

Why didn't we discover Pluto's moons until more than a decade after Hubble launched? Mark Showalter helps me answer this question.

Nice explanation of how discoveries are made while looking/checking for other things!  Another story I like is how Hubble's fine guidance sensor data was used to detect a KBO via occultation.

Curiosity has been busy performing a survey of the Kimberley, walking the length of the outcrop and taking enormous quantities of photos. The team is now ready to go in for a closer look, and maybe even to drill.

If we command our wealth we shall be rich and free , if our wealth commands
us, we are poor indeed.

Water-carved gullies on Mars I'll buy, but on Vesta? Color me intrigued.

Wouldn't differing densities of the rock in the crater also account for deflection of the dry material flows?
