This place is good to go on a date with for a special occasion their stuff is generally pretty expensive but it is made by a fancy pastry chef so she charges these high prices stuff is very sweet but don't come here too often otherwise you'll become a diabetic good overall but nothing to come to every single day

Known for fabulously beautiful and over the top tasty desserts, the Little Italy location is also an excellent place for lunch. Many choices from shared plates to salads and sandwiches, good selection of cheeses. Greek plate, one elegant cheese and chocolate shortbread made a lovely shareable lunch. The coffee (even decaf) was outstanding!

This place should be illegal!!! Serving out of this world deserts and opens late. Oh dear GOD! Thank God I was only visiting San Diego or else I would have overdosed on this place. Cam here for the strawberry short cake but unfortunately they were out of it so I had some heavenly chocolate mousse cake. It was extremely chocolaty and delicious! wanted to try them all but my stomach was already full from dinner! The presentation is just something else, haven't seen more beautiful cakes that those in here. The fresh flowers just makes everything look amazing. It's not cheap, and by not cheap I mean it's $11 for a piece of cake but it is big enough for two and it's legit out of this world. Plus there's $5 worth of flowers on each piece... This place is dope! Please please pleaseee open a branch here in San Francisco, summer sucks here and we need you!!!

The best dessert place I've been to. Their cakes are excellent. Ambiance is good. Prices are reasonable. Parking can be a problem and wait times on weekends are pretty high. It's worth it.

Is this place expensive? Yes. Is there often a long wait time? Yes. Will you find the most decadent but delicious desserts here? Yes! Some places are overrated but this is not that place. Come here to have your sweet tooth (or teeth in my case) pleasantly satisfied!

This could be the best place to get desert anywhere! The selection is endless and everything tastes amazing they have a large selection of accompanying beverages as well. Excellent place to end the night. Can be busy at times some waiting may be required.

I know some people who LOVE Extraordinary Desserts, and I know others who think it is way overhyped and not worth the price. I have to agree with the people who love Extraordinary Desserts because it is amazing and definitely lives up to its name. I came with friends on an SD trip during one particular weekend, and we ended up hitting Extraordinary Desserts twice because it was that good. I was the only person from my group who hadn't tried it yet, and having heard so much about this place over the past few years, I was expecting a lot. And my expectations were surpassed! My friend mentioned that what stands out about Extraordinary's cakes is the fruit puree that it comes with. When you mix the puree with the cake, your mouth pretty much explodes and you can die happy knowing that you've tried this. The first time we came, we had to wait about 30 minutes before they seated us at the bar area, which was better than a table since the bar gets better lighting, hence better pictures! With the thirty minutes we had to spare, we looked through the glass at all the dessert selections we wanted to try before finally narrowing it down to three. 1) Strawberry poppy seed cake: I'm a big fan of poppy seed and strawberries, but I don't think this combination worked together. The cake was a lot more dense than I expected, and didn't have enough of that sweetness I usually get from cake. The fruit puree on the side was still really good though! 2) I think we tried the Raspberry Ricotta cake. It was good, and more on the heavy side. But the fruit puree continued to remain amazing and definitely lifted up the cake. I don't think I'd try this again. 3) Passion fruit cheesecake: Oh my gosh, this dessert was the best of the night. Literally so smooth that when you slide your fork down the middle, it drops perfectly without any obstacles or bumps. And when you mix it with the puree and put it in your mouth, it tastes so amazing you just want to close your eyes and smile. Aha! The flavors of the cake were on point and didn't even need the puree, but when you mixed it together ... Remy with the cheese and strawberries in Ratatouille - that's what you pretty much get. 4) Passion Fruit Ricotta Cake: This sold out the night we originally wanted to get it, so we came back the next day and ordered it to share amongst five people. Yes, it is that amazing and yes, I would order it again! It was so light yet flavorful and I could really taste the fruit flavors! And of course with that puree (it's not for looks, it really tastes amazing!) ... 5) And I bought a Passion Fruit Napoleon cake to-go for my parents. I paid extra for the puree, which they pretty much just squirted into a to-go cup. My dad said the cake was really good and didn't even need the puree, but he was happy he got to try both. The layers of Napoleon stayed intact during the drive home, and the custard and cream had really good flavor. I think this cake was my personal favorite, just because I'm a fan of Napoleons. Not too heavy or tart, but still very tasty. tl;dr - Now that I've rambled on about desserts, what you basically need to know is: YES you should definitely try out Extraordinary Desserts if you've never been before or if you LOVE desserts. They have cakes, cupcakes, whole cakes to-go, food, drinks, and more here! Price is pretty expensive - around $10-$15 per slice, but it's worth the experience! And if you buy to-go, definitely pay extra for that puree on the side! You pretty much pay for the look of the dessert, so take those pictures to get your money's worth!

I have not left any negative review until now, but this time I have to voice out: MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!! This place has pretty looking cakes (just the look not the taste) but NOT CLEAN at all! We found a fly drowning in the chocolate sauce of the slice cake we ordered. But they don't care, no apologize was ever offered, we are not only charged for the fly drowning cake, but also been told "you have already eaten half the cake". HORRIBLE customer service! We are lucky to found that dead fly in the sauce rather in someone's mouth! It's just a $8 slice of cake, but it showed how much this place cares about their product quality and customers! We are totally grosed out and will never set a foot in this store again!!!
