🇬🇮#WednesdayWisdom: The Barbary ape is the only primate that lives in Europe. 🐒A small colony has existed at The Rock for many years, having made their way from Morocco, some say by way of a tunnel under the straits when Gibraltar and Morocco were joined many years ago.

One of the pleasures of traveling is encountering the unexpected. If you keep your options open and avoid planning and filling every hour of every day, you’ll experience all kinds of unforeseen adventures.

I can relate to #2: It helps you reinvent yourself. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nomanazish/2018/01/22/five-reasons-why-travel-is-good-for-your-mental-health/#1d205acd5934

Retirement gave my husband Günter and I the chance to reinvent ourselves. We became cruisers, yachties, adventurers, and SO MUCH MORE when we sailed around the world after turning 60 years-old. Read about our travels in my nautical trilogy, available now at www.LoisJoyHofmann.com.

Sail along with my husband Gunter and I up the coast of Australia, through Indonesia, and on to Southeast Asia, across the Indian Ocean, through #PirateAlley and the Red Sea, and finally across the Med and back to France where our circumnavigation began!

"The Long Way Back" is available now at www.LoisJoyHofmann.com or on #Amazon. ⛵️📘🗺

At the San Diego zoo, we often stood in hours-long lines to see the offspring of pandas that had been loaned to this zoo for breeding. Eventually, these delightful pandas would be returned to Chengdu. The panda program has been conducted in partnership with the Chengdu Panda Base. During dozens of visits to the exhibit in San Diego, I never dreamed I would ever visit the sister facility in China!

️DID YOU KNOW? Maldivians live on only 185 of the nearly 2,000 islands; the rest are dedicated to tourism, agriculture, and nature.

#TBT: In life, you’re going to hit force 12 winds. Wild, unpredictable, screeching storms will hit as your journey along on your sea of life. It’s a given. But you have a choice. You can fight against the crashing waves in a furious assault against the beast of the sea, or you can coil into a fetal position in fear of death. Or you can take the advice of experienced life sailors and “run with the wind.”
