#hard90  Branstad expects Larry Hedlund to release a report he's never seen -- magic! Of course, the Iowa Governor is a big of a magician: ask to see his disappearing speeding violation trick!

#Branstad  stammering about his speeding incident and the firing of the officer. He fumbles so badly one of his staff has to come out and speak for him to try and recover.

Rainier has a very sharp retro package out now. Walt would be proud.

Decided on an old fashioned style lamp fixture for the front porch, continuing our theme of old farmhouse. Didn't enjoy doing the wiring... It was 148 in the attic this afternoon and I was buried in a pile of insulation. But it's over now!

Introduction
I have done a little of everything, except for the things still on my list. (I don't have a list.) Press secretary for Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal, reporter, photojournalist, webmaster, computer technician, road paver, banker, and sometime novelist... the list goes on and on.

Originally of Cheyenne, I moved to Colorado Springs when I was a young duffer but did most of my growing up in Nichols and Lone Tree, Iowa, two small towns in the east central part of the state. I spent most of my childhood scheming to return to Wyoming, and was finally successful early in 2008. It has been bittersweet: I love it here and the people are fantastic, but I left many fantastic people behind.

These folks don't sell cars, they sell transportation, or so said the sales associate I was chatting with. They wanted $7,700 for a car that, on a good day, books for $2,800. But the sales associate said he didn't know what the book value was, which makes him either dishonest or incompetent. Neither of which being the sort of folk I care to do business with.

Gin's is a pretty rough place. Spend any amount of time in the joint and you'll leave smelling like a giant french fry. Worse than that, there isn't much reason to be there in the first place: the beer is served too warm to enjoy. The bar staff is generally pretty nice, with the exception of the owner herself, Gin, who's caustic humor is almost always a little too sharp for people. If you do go, though, try and stick to cocktails, as at least they've got ice in them.
