Biodiversity Sri Lanka opened the discussion for Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism on the International Day for Biological Diversity 2017, with the support of Dilmah Conservation at the HNB Towers on 22nd May 2017. The forum hosted a brilliant body of national and international panelists comprising of Maeve Nightingale from IUCN Asia, Environmental Expert Dr Sumith Pilapitiya, Representative of Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle, Dilan Bandara and Madhura de Silva of the Wildlife Conservation Society - Galle, highlighted various aspects of the tourism industry; its impact and effect on socioeconomic constructs and the environment.
Biodiversity Sri Lanka is a not-for-profit private sector organisation, initiated by Dilmah Conservation in association with IUCN and Ceylon Chamber of Commerce to facilitate economic growth and sustainable development while encouraging businesses to protect the biodiversity of Sri Lanka.

Once the tea and freshly boiled water are combined, the leaves tend to settle at the bottom of the teapot, reducing the contact between tea leaves and water. Stir to agitate the tea and allow proper extraction. Black tea should be brewed for 3 minutes, stirring on adding water, again a minute later and finally before serving. Oolong and Green Tea could be brewed for 2 minutes.

Antioxidants in tea are known for their ability to reduce oxidative stress. Diseases of old age are thought to be the result of attacks by Free Radicals. Tea polyphenols inhibit the action of Free Radicals and can contribute to better quality of life for the elderly and also possibly longevity.
