AXI interfacing with Chisel
I recently started using Chisel , a hardware construction language from UC Berkeley implemented as a Scala DSL. Although it still has some rough edges, it's definitely usable and I really like how it can map the same description into Verilog or a cycle-accu...

Anyone tried "MyScript Stylus (Beta)" ?  What do you think?
I just found out about it and gave it a go, my first impression is that it's much better than Samsung's solution for text input based on handwriting recognition (at least on the 4.3 firmware).

Still, I find the "write handwritten text in scrolling entry box, recognized text appears in original textbox" method a bit clumsy for note-taking. I'd love to see some note-taking app solution which replaces the handwritten text "in-place" with recognized letters.

Moto X has dual CPU cores, quad GPU cores, a natural language processing core and a "contextual computing" core processing sensor data. That's a nice variety of heterogeneous cores!

Samsung caught red-handed. They were "optimizing" benchmark results on the Galaxy S4. Ouch.

The Snapdragon 600 at the heart of the 8-core Galaxy S4 has a good heterogeneous/asymmetric multicore concept (4 "big" cores for performance, 4 "small" cores for energy efficiency) but unfortunately the battery lifetime benchmarks don't reflect this. The lesson is that heterogeneity's energy benefits amount next to nothing if the software doesn't do its part (i.e allocating the correct tasks to the correct cores).

feeling sleepy and demotivated in the afternoon? apparently, the solution is dancing crazy for an hour at lunchtime ("Lunchbeat") :)

Randall Mundroe gave me the goosebumps with this. Again.
