Anyone else using the +Synfig rpms on fedora (21)? I'm getting a segfault with all of them (including RC4) when I create e.g. a rectangle and relase the mouse - it seems to happen when the renderer is filling the rectangle.

Less than 12 hours and $3.000 remain for Builder's 5th milestone that includes a graphical debugger and integration with external hardware such as tablets and ARM-based hardware devices!

If you have some spare cash and if you're using GNOME, consider to donate. It will pay you off!

Oh and it is coming this April with GNOME 3.16!

+Henri Hebeisen is one of the artists on this! Go robots! go Proog!

+Patrick David  announced he would "defer any of his proceeds [from the Libre Calendar] to the [F/OSS] projects".
So that means that for every calendar that you buy,  even more will go to the Free Software Graphics projects than planned.

Note that the association LILA also wants to emphasize though that it is also important to remind that the artists and creative minds are important too, and their efforts should not be minimized in favor of code. Nevertheless since Pat willingly chose to donate, it is worth noting, especially if you were more interested into funding the FLOSS projects!

It took me a few days/weeks to write this one, but here's the first episode of a new série of blog posts about +Pitivi news
Hello gentle readers! You may have been wondering what has been going on since the 0.93 release and the Pitivi fundraising campaign. There are a few reasons why we've been quiet on the blogging side this summer: Mathieu and Thibault have been working hard to bring us towards “1.0 quality”, ...

No cameras I guess... but they rock! great choice guys!

Due to a domain registration mix up we are unfortunately not able to continue building the AXIOM anymore. As a result we also needed to make changes to our general area of work which means we have to stop building cameras as of today. But we are very proud to report that the transfer of the entire team to this new endeavor is now completed. Our new project is called: AXEÖHM - the greatest death metal band on the planet.

So the nice folks at renderstreet did an interview with me about movies, blender, free/libre open source software, etc. It might be interesting, and there's pretty pictures from Wires for Empathy scattered throughout the interview.
Bassam Kurdali talks about the open source movement and about how it feels to create in the libre world.

Hey G+ ! A detailed making-of for the FSF User Liberation video, in typical  Free/Open style it also includes the production files, read, download and go wild!
Last October Libby Reynish from the Free Software Foundation commissioned us to make a short film in celebration of the FSF's 30th anniversary, to support their annual funding campaign. We were thrilled at the chance to work on messaging we care about, that's so close to our own mission.

check out the thing! thanks for posting +Christopher Webber

http://fsf.org is sporting a new video that's a nice, friendly introduction to the FSF and free software.  Really great!

You can read more here:

https://www.fsf.org/blogs/community/user-liberation-watch-and-share-our-new-video

Highly appreciate the upswing here of the FSF making friendly, accessible messaging with both this and the Email Self Defense Guide put out this year: https://emailselfdefense.fsf.org/en/

Want to encourate the FSF in continuing to work on making free software a thing for everyone?  How about showing your approval by donating!  https://donate.fsf.org/

+Henri Hebeisen has written quite a nice article about the tube open movie project as part of #blendermonth2014 . He's a great artist and a wonderful human being- I hope the generosity of his spirit will somehow shine through in the final movie.
It's also quite interesting his 'dual perspective' as Henri worked both in the very early days of the project, and again during the later days. For me working on it more or less consistently, you don't feel a 'jump' in progress, it's a lot of incremental stuff, and feels like "we've done so much" and "we've got so much to do" simultaneously all the time.

Today for #blendermonth2014 challenge, I wrote an article about +Bassam Kurdali 's Tube project !  #b3d
