Do not stay here. Very sketchy area, hardly any parking and dimly lit lot. Traveling with a dog and my teenage son so I booked 2 double beds. Upon checking in, they let me know I was moved to 1 king bed since nothing else was available on the pet floor. Breakfast is awful. Huge drink fridge on the 1st floor but only had 2 rows filled. Beds are horrible. This place is disgusting. We were afraid to leave our room at night. Avoid at all costs.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, even for a cheap rate. Let me list the problems. 1. Booked a non-smoking room, they gave us a smoking room. I had a headache the next day due to it. 2. The parking looks like urban blight; grass is dead or dying and growing through cracks in pavement. We had to park across the street due to the lot was full. 3. Breakfast was ridiculous. The cut off time was 10am. So you would think that 9:50am they would still be serving, right... well define serve... first you get a coupon that you have to give to the security guard in the lobby then if all of an item is gone, ex: biscuits, and you mention it to the staff, I was told... its over at 10am. I adivsed yes I knew that but its 9:50am so there should be availble breakfast items other than 1 carton on yogurt in a pool of tepid water and some cereal/bagels. oh, sorry, they did have waffles but the dispenser was stopped up so you cound't get it out. 4. The staff were not professional, when we questioned the safetly of the area, we were told by the front desk that "its not that bad". What? Great advertising... right?! I am giving it 1 star because I did sleep once I put my earplugs in due to hallway noise.

My name is Rebecca Kessler and I really need to let the public hear how we were treated..absolutely horrible!! We booked a room for 1 night..hubby had a doctor's appt. at 7 am the next morning ..well the next morning I got sick so at 6 am I called and asked the front desk if I could rent the room for another night..desk clerk said fine just come down and pay for another night..so I went down at 8 am. They ran my credit card everything was okay..hubby had went to the doctor and I went back to bed. .when my husband got back to our room 310..we were talking and all the sudden it sounds like someone is beating the door down. .I'm still in bed because I'm sick ..he answer's the door to be a screetched and screamed at by this (seeming to be homicidal manic) screaming get out or pay!!! At the top of her lungs..the people in the rooms beside us start opening their doors to see what's going on..and I scream back at her she needs to check her paper work because I has payed for the room at 8 am..she turns around not saying nothing and goes down stairs "I assume" then I called the front desk and report her..they say they are going to check into it..and instead of the nice woman calling me back the other one calls..which she did not identify herself as the one that was at my door until I said 1. check and make sure you have your information correct 2. Treat me like a human..talk to me.. do not scream. .a call to my room would have clarified things or I could have came down to the front desk. .instead of everyone thinking we were trying to steal a room 3. when YOU make a mistake admit to it. .first she said she wasn't screaming..if she wasn't everyone there wouldn't have been popping their heads out to see what was going on..then after she realized she WAS SCREAMING she said nobody was on the floor at that time but her and her maid..So does this mean she can accuse guest's of not paying for room's without first checking her paper work at the top of her lungs?? 4. We were humiliated by her actions and told her that and we felt unwelcome at this point. Did she reassure us???? NO! ALL SHE COULD KEEP REPEATING WAS WE WASN'T GOING TO GET A REFUND!! REALLY AT THIS POINT A REFUND IS THE LAST THING WE WANT!! A SINCERE APOLOGY AND ADMIT YOU ARE/WERE WRONG.. WE FELT EVEN THOUGH we had payed and someone had found THE MISTAKE..WE COULD NOT RISK ANOTHER ATTACK FOR POSSIBLY SOMETHING ELSE..especially since she wouldn't reassure us that we were welcomed there..I have never felt so embarrassed in my entire life!!! While we were checking out I waited beside the elevator doors and the maid came by she could see that something was wrong and she wanted to help me..She was the one who comforted me and said that the woman was not very good with people. .another guest who over heard us talking proceeded to tell us that the same woman (yes, he pointed to her) and said she wouldn't help him check in and he had paid for his room before arriving and she did not even want to check for his reservation. . Thank you Best Western for making one of the worst memories in our life after being sick and my poor husband being at the doctor's office all day ..your desk clerk belongs somewhere she has no contact with people and your maids need to be running the front desk. ..I also need to add...hotel toilet would hardly flush..and it looked like it had urine and definitely toilet tissue in it..other than that..it was clean..we did get stuck on the elevator. .again with a different maid who was on there ..reassured me everything was going to be okay and she called for help. .those maids ha email hearts to bad that one bad apple spoils the whole bunch..

Chris Radar is the manager here and does not care. My son got hurt bad at the slippery pool and Chris did nothing but offer us a 50% discount. We'll the pool floor was so slippery anyone would fall standing on it. He fell as soon as we got there and the desk clerk laughed!!!! We had to search for Ice and a accident report was never done. Best Western corporate has instructed them to refund us and the owner refused. We have stayed at Best Western for years but no more! Don't waste your time . Very filthy dirty too. Bugs everywhere and blood on the sheets.

booked the room, arrived 1 hour later and due to a guy smoking pot in the hotel on the floor where they supposedly had the only rooms left available, they cancelled our reservations. however when my husband went to check in they handed him the receipt and instructed him to go next door to the Charleston Capitol Hotel to get a room. no explanation. i had to go back and get more info as the rooms at BW are more expensive. after $200 and now having to ask for a refund we will never utilize a Best Western, or attempt to use a BW evwr again. for the matter we will never stop in Charleston WV again as the Capitil Hotel was a hole, wallpaper coming off the wall, tub won't drain properly, walls paper thin, had to call front desk to get them to stop the loud people on the floor and still very little sleep. not worth the hassel. i should have just driven straight through

I wish I could give a 0 star rating. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! Jamie at the desk has no customer service skills and CHRIS RADAR is the worst management I have ever met. BED BUGS TOO!!!! Save your $$$
