On the face of it, perfectionism can seem like a good thing in public speaking. Having high standards and a strong need for achievement can lead to outstanding work. From my favorite Ginger on #gingerthursday
In a culture of me-me-me-my-my-my-mine-mine-mine... it's hard to think that focusing on others will make you more successful. But it will. Always.

One of the biggest problems speakers (and the world at large) face is focusing too much on themselves and not enough on their audience (whoever that may be). Developing an empathetic approach to public speaking will help your speaking in more ways than one…

This is sad. Back in my twenties I devoured his books. He did help a lot of people.
A very bright light went out over the weekend. Wayne Dyer had an amazing way with words that connected you and made you feel strong and powerful but not in a selfish way! He was an awesome speaker and teacher. He was God blessed. RIP Wayne Dyer. Ax

52 years ago... wow. Still as powerful today as it was then. #mlk
Today marks 52 years since MLK's 'I Have a Dream' speech.
Martin Luther King Jr’s “I have a dream” speech put the civil rights movement into the hearts and minds of Americans and beyond. It contributed to him being named Man of the Year by Time magazine in 1963 and to his Nobel Peace Prize the following year.

Here are the key features of King’s distinctive and inspiring speaking style – and what it means for public speakers…
