The Kumar Eye Institute is an Accredited Dry Eye Center and is able to provide TearLab testing for Dry Eye Disease. Dry Eye Disease is a common condition in which the eye does not produce enough tears to keep the surface of the eye sufficiently lubricated. It affects approximately 40 million people in the U.S. and 100 million people worldwide. In its mild to moderate forms, it can impact vision and the ability to go about daily activities. In its more severe forms, Dry Eye Disease can lead to permanent loss of vision.

4% of the population has Strabismus (misalignment of the eyes). In children, Strabismus often occurs in overall normal healthy children, but may be more common in children with central palsy, Down syndrome, hydrocephalus and brain tumors. In adults, stroke is the leading cause, but trauma, neurological problems and thyroid eye disorders may also cause Strabismus.
Treatment to re-align the eyes may include eye glasses, prisms and/or eye muscle surgery.
