Fun day today. Brother finds out a wall socket in the house across the street is making a horrible electrical buzz. Dad rushes home from work, replaces wall socket afraid an arc would catch the house on fire, only to have the buzz move from the socket all the way back to the 50A main in the breaker box. After some detective work, we singled out which circuit caused the buzz. Then we found out what was caused the whole buzz in the first place. A damn light in my old room that wasn't meant to handle fluorescent bulbs (because it had a dimmer on it) was overloading the circuit, because the dimmer was not turned all the way up.
GG dad for not remembering lamps with a rheostat aren't supposed to use fluorescent bulbs.
