About BBT | The School of Russian American Ballet: Established in 1987, Brighton Ballet Theater/School of Russian American Ballet (BBT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and developing Russian classical and folk dance traditions in New York City. More than 400 students from diverse backgrounds attend BBT
each year to learn the art of dance. BBT's well-rounded curriculum is founded on the Vaganova (Russian) Method, a ballet training system not only for correct technique, but also for proper disposition; students may also pursue classes in character dance, contemporary dance, international folk dance, jazz dance, etc. Under the care and guidance of BBT’s International faculty, who graduated best ballet schools and colleges and have performed with the most prestigious ballet companies of Russia, Ukraine, and the USA, our dancers gain the skills they need for life-long health, creativity, self-discipline, personal responsibility and professional success.

Brighton Ballet Advanced Division students Evelyn Au, Nellie Podokshik, Clarice Ostrov, Ilana Gottlieb, and Daniella Zavadski were awarded as one of the "Top 12 Ensemble" ("The Baroque". Teacher & Choreographer: Edouard Kouchnarev) at the Philadelphia Regional Semi-Finals of Youth America Grand Prix Ballet Competition and got invited to compete in the International YAGP finals this April in NYC.

Dates Announced for the 28th Annual Children's Festival "The World of Dance"

Each year, Brighton Ballet Theater holds its Annual Children's Festival "The World of Dance". Anticipated by thousands of people, "The World of Dance" Festival presents the achievements of BBT's dedicated dancers of all ages, in full stage productions with stunning scenery and distinctive costumes.

Festival will be held June 17-18, 2015 at the Leon M. Goldstein Performing Arts Center, Kingsborough Community College.

Regular ticket price for adults: $40, $35, $30, $25 for any "one event" performance;
Special Packages Offer*: (tickets for 1 person/for 2 events): $70, $60, $50, $40 
Children & Senior* $20 per event; $40 package for 2 events (with the exception of rows A, B, C, D and AA); Children's tickets: 12 and under; Senior Citizens tickets: 65 and over;

Rehearsals have begun for the BBT's Advanced Division students who were selected to take part in the Mikhailovsky Ballet 'Class Concert' at the Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater in New York. 

Students of the Vaganova Ballet Academy took part in 'Class Concert' on the Mikhailovsky stage, but young New York talents will take their place during the US tour. Mikhail Messerer, Ballet Master in Chief of Mikhailovsky Ballet has visited BBT | The School of Russian American Ballet at Kingsborough and has held auditions among their students. BBT's talented children have already begun rehearsing with Olga Sabadosh & Edouard Kouchnarev; they will participate in the New York 'Class Concert' performances on 18 and 19 November on the David H. The ballet 'Class Concert' premiered on the Mikhailovsky stage this September, and it will be featured in the programme of the Mikhailovsky Ballet USA Tour this November to be shown to the New York audience. http://goo.gl/zGg90T

Vaganova Method Ballet Master Class with BBT’s Guest Teacher Liudmila Polonskaya. She graduated from the world famous Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia under the orientation of the maitre Natalia Dudinskaya in 1974. Ms. Polonskaya also graduated in Ballet Pedagogy at the Vaganova Academy Ballet in St. Petersburg with a diploma of Choreographer and Teacher of Classical Ballet, Character and Historical Dance.
