So, I had purchased an Abetta round knife off of Amazon awhile back.  I had it professionally sharpened, but didn't have a case or sheath for it.  Leatherworking got put on the back burner for awhile and just now have some time to do what I want.  So, the first thing I decided to make was a sheath for the round knife.  I had some scrap leather that I used, I cut it to best size I could think of.  I ended up using Fiebing's dark brown oil dye with white stitching to accent.  What do you guys think for my first item to even make?

I finally threw mine out from amazon. Those knives don't keep an edge worth crap. Now I use a Stohlman round knife but most of my cuttin I do with a trim knife I got from weaver. It has replaceable blades but I am still on my first one (blade) and I got it 3 months ago and use it daily.

So I finally broke down and bought a Chromebook.  I have had my eye on either a Chromebook or an Ultrabook.  Since being a college student, I needed something that could get me through my classes and not have a dead battery, be lightweight and thin, do simple tasks, and not break the bank. Since I already have a power horse laptop(Toshiba A665-3DV) and  a Desktop PC, getting a Chromebook was a no brainer.  Picked up an Used-'Like new" Samsung Chromebook(ARM) for $188 shipped via Amazon and will be here Tuesday.

Your path to the decision is spot on, and if more people went through the same pattern there would be very few arguments against a Chromebook. People who buy Chromebooks expecting them to replace full-blown desktops and laptops, or those who just want a cheap laptop need not apply. The Chromebooks are perfectly capable of being lowcost laptop replacements when viewed in light of them being a web portal and FULLY utilizing the google ecosystem. They will NEVER replace fill blown desktops for your video editing.

Nothing worse that seeing people complaining that they can't find a video conversion app for Chromebook and other idiotic statements.

For people like yourself that have primary laptops or desktops, and need a lightweight mobile "companion", Chromebooks are awesome. Slap Teamviewer or Chrome Remote Desktop on the main system, and it's a great home away from home. You will not be dissapointed!

I have actually considered going terminal mode for my full workstations and using a Chromebox as I find myself more productive when there are less distractions.

Does anyone else have an issue with their Samsung Chromebook(ARM) being slow?  I realize that it uses a phone processor, but if it being classed a a laptop, it is the most lag I have ever had from a laptop.  Web pages sometimes take 20-30 seconds to complete loading.  Watching YouTube videos are painful and buffers A LOT!  When listening to Google Music, if I open a new web page it cuts out a lot until the page is done loading.

+Karl Gingerich I took the money and applied it toward an even more embarrassing purchase, a used '74  AMC Gremlin, lol.

60 Mbs down here, I too appreciate the speed.  Pay out the arse for it, but very disappointed with the 5Mbps up.
