Many of us knew this was the case, but Twitter's Social TV Lab and Starcom MediaVest Group just did a great study that proves Twitter can further amplify your brand and voice when used in conjunction with TV. Clients are often on the fence about whether or not social media impacts TV... well, here's your proof!
Twitter wants to be the first choice for your second-screen. And today, it released research that backs up its aspirations. The study, a product of Twitter’s Social TV Lab partnership with media buying agency Starcom MediaVest Group, presents evidence that combining Twitter and TV results in strong gains in brand awareness, TV ad recall, engagement […]

In a world where it's hard to prove the effectiveness of social integration, I'm happy to see some hard numbers showing its importance!

You know, I just presented to a whole bunch of hospital and healthcare execs, and I wish I would have had this article on hand. Social media is here to stay, and even though for hospitals and healthcare groups it can be risky, the best you can do is try to post yourself as the industry expert. The Mayo Clinic "footsteps to guide" is a great tool, but I'm sure glad my client established their policy!

Aww. This is amazing. I think I need a dog like this one...

A family dog saved a toddler who fell into a backyard swimming pool in Michigan.

Great points, +Kim Hand! It's incredible how fast Instagram has grown and become lucrative to the very FEW people actually working there. I'm thinkin we need a million dollar idea or app.

Last week, while everyone was buying lotto tickets, the guys from Instagram were cashing in their winning tickets. A couple of guys were able to turn an app into a billion dollar investment. How they did it seems simple now, but is often difficult to replicate.

Part of their success comes from creating a product that solves a problem and perfect timing (the iPhone's camera was finally decent quality). But another key element was the social integration. They made it simple to use and easy to share. People were already taking pictures with their phones, but now they could take even better looking photos and share them with their friends.

The best part about Instagram was it didn't have to teach people how to use their product. People already knew how to take pictures. Instagram just enhanced this experience.

I've heard a lot of people threatening to leave Instagram. While I understand their gripes, it seems that the buy indicates Facebook's strategic long term thinking. Instagram was able to create a billion dollar mobile app only on the iPhone. Those are a bunch of people that I'd like on my team. Who knows, maybe this will mean a better mobile app for Facebook, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

"Overall almost 33 million Americans used their mobiles for banking, almost 14% of all US mobile users." - ComScore Report

Thus... if you're a bank, don't you think it's in your best interest to have a mobile optimized website, or even a mobile app? I am EXTREMELY happy with my small, non-fortune 500 bank minus the fact that whenever I want banking info on-the-go, I have to call a phone number, or log-on to their non-mobile site. All I'm saying is that there are plenty of reason why a business owner may not think they need a mobile site (although I might disagree with 99% of them), but for banking... IT. HAS. TO. HAPPEN. Get with the times, people.

One star is really too much for this joke of a company. When originally quoted, we were told it was going to be $180 to move myself from a one bedroom apartment, to another one bedroom apartment. After finishing the Q&A from the customer services reps including every detail as to how many boxes, what the large items were, what floor I was on, etc etc etc, the quote was finalized. On moving day, the movers arrived promptly and began wrapping and loading my stuff. Once we got to my knew apartment after unloading only half of their truck, they proceeded to tell me my new quote was $310. Claiming they had to charge me for the wrapping (which they never even asked me to use, they just started wrapping things), charge me more for the 2nd floor (this was disclosed on the original floor), and then again tell me they didn't realize I had so much "stuff". After spending 30 minutes on the phone with their customer service staff that could hardly have had more than a high-school education due to her poor language use and lack of understanding our situation, I told them there was no way I was paying for the extra charges. The movers then proceeded to put the rest of my stuff outside of their truck for me to finish carrying myself. I gave them all the cash I had (because they ONLY take cash, money order, or cashier's checks), and sent them on their way. Two weeks later their customer service department is calling me trying to get the rest of my money. Not happening. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. SCAM ARTISTS AT THEIR FINEST.
