Can anyone tell me why a "progress bar" feature for apt-get, similar to the look and feel of yum for Fedora, has taken this long to be added???

It just makes so much more sense. Plus, I can hold on to my sanity longer now that I know how much further apt-get has to go to finish its task!

Seriously, I want to know: do I sound like a Linux noob for wanting a progress bar in my most used Terminal apps? =/ I think these kinds of features/innovations/tweaks need to spread far and wide across our FOSS repositories-----like now.

Avid Apt users among you that are already running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS may want to enable the following new feature to make Terminal-time a tad more helpful.

I can't install LoL on Windows 8.

Does this problem sound familiar?  I've checked the forums and Google searched everything and it seems a lot of gamers are having this problem too.

I have Steam installed, so if that's important information, then here it is.  I am running 64-bit Windows 8.  I DO have the latest version of Adobe Air installed.  I seem to have "Pando something" installed on my computer (apparently it's a web plugin I'm looking at my list of plugins in Google Chrome).

I know I should have DirectX 9, 10, and 11 installed (or just 9 and 11) because A.) I installed them myself before installing Steam, and B.) Steam installs Microsoft DirectX 9 automatically (or whatever version a particular game requires before Steam installs it).

What happens when I try to launch the game:
- The game appears to have installed successfully.
- I click on the LoL icon to start the program.
- The LoL logo appears.
- The program stops abruptly (I don't even get to see the LOL updater/launcher).
- I get a PvP.net kernel error.
- Repeat.

Any suggestions? I usually use Google+ for support because Google+ users are more helpful and mature than Facebook or Twitter users.

I just wanted to hop over to the Lubuntu G+ Community and congratulate you guys on the wonderful progress you have made with Lubuntu 14.04!

I absolutely dislike LXDE and I think it is a very unattractive Desktop Environment, but YOU guys have managed to make it look very appealing! I have some Windows XP users in my family and I can know just by looking at your screenshots that they will be comfortable switching over to Lubuntu 14.04 without any fear or intimidation of Linux.

For my school's Linux PC, I'm actually going to uninstall Linux Mint and replace it with Lubuntu 14.04 when it comes out! It's a very small college, so they put me in charge of it. Lol

Great job guys. Great job!

What??? This is certainly incredible and puzzling news!

THIS is how you respond to piracy, not the TPP and other such BS!

I'm actually pretty curious as to what the unknown secondary effects of this are. For example, how many people will go out and buy an +Iron Maiden album (or song) because of this story?
I know I'm inclined to.
It certainly works in the other direction. I know that personally I have not purchased anything Metallica related since their participation in the Napster debacle. Heck I even change stations when they come on the radio. They basically lost me as a fan and more importantly as a consumer.
I think Iron Maiden has essentially shown they way to deal with modern consumers. It's always about the carrot, not the stick.

P.S. Suck it +Metallica !

I don't have the skills to install and configure SteamOS, but if & when it matures enough to install and use SteamOS with ease like I can with Linux Mint and Xubuntu then I will wipe an HDD drive and prepare my computer for the ultimate gaming experience in the world.

#SteamOS IS FINALLY HERE!!!! I'm so excited! =D
