Or if you're an author like me, donate copies of your books to them. When my publisher sells the large-print rights to one of my books, then sends me a few complimentary copies, I immediately contact my local library to see if they want one or two. They usually say yes, because so many patrons want large-print books, and they're expensive for libraries to purchase.

Snowshoeing in Summit County
Here's a photo of my intrepid snowshoe group, the "Women With Altitude," from our 3 mile hike that we took this morning. I'm in front with a purple hat and blue fleece top and my black jacket around my waist. It was a warm, sunny day, so we were shucking la...

It strikes me that all of the writers mentioned seemed to be traditionally published, unless I missed one. It doesn't address the situation relative to self-published writers.

I'm on the program committee for the Breckfilmfest, in charge of selecting short dramas. I've seen some good ones so far, but I'm still looking for the one that's going to floor me.

The regular deadline for Call for Entries is approaching in about a month, April 17th. The submission fees go up considerably after that, so don't waste any time getting your film submitted!

Breckfilmfest and I and my short drama reviewers would love the opportunity to review your film and if accepted, welcome you to the beautiful Victorian town of Breckenridge, Colorado, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, where independent filmmakers are treated royally.

Go to www.withoutabox.com to submit.

We're looking for some really cool adventure films in the Adventure category and some funny comedies in the Short and Regular-length Comedy categories, as well as films in other categories, too.

Breckenridge Ski Resort reported 15 inches of powder fell in the last 24 hours, so Neil and I and visiting son just HAD to go out skiing in it. But first, we cleared off the cars, shoveled a space on the side of the driveway and moved them, so the snowplow guy could reach the rest of the driveway to clear it off. So, both upper and lower body workouts today!

After coordinating a community dinner for 90 people at Father Dyer UMC tonight, I'm pooped! And, I learned that I need to put the huge casserole pans in the oven a lot earlier. Thanks to all my diligent helpers!

Maybe the love interest of my RM Outdoor Adventures series character, river guide/ranger Mandy Tanner, should have read this article before getting involved!

Inspired by the popular HuffPo article, "Don't Date a Girl Who Travels," river guide Joslin Fritz explains why you should never date a river guide...

Wow! I entered a contest at ReadingGroupGuides.com for 10 copies of a book I've been wanting to read, Orphan Train. I just received the box today and will be handing them out to my fellow book club members at our meeting next Monday. Can't wait to dive into it myself!

Bestselling mystery author with two series, the Claire Hanover gift basket designer series and the Rocky Mountain Outdoor Adventure series.
Introduction
I write the Claire Hanover gift basket designer mystery series and the Rocky Mountain Outdoor Adventures mystery series, starring Mandy Tanner, whitewater river ranger. I was an avid "river rat" in the 1980s, running whitewater rivers in the eastern US in an open-boat canoe, and I have enjoyed reacquainting myself with that subculture and its updated boating equipment while researching the series. I live in Colorado and enjoy its many outdoor activities, including skiing and whitewater rafting. To find out more, please visit my website.
