JOB OPENING: FISHERIES RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1
Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) is seeking a Fishery Research Scientist 1 to provide support to the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC), in Seattle, WA. This is an approximately one year position to conduct research that will provide a basis for identifying hatchery actions that may be used to support the recovery of Southern resident killer whales. The work will involve processing of hatchery release and stream flow data, spatiotemporal modeling to identify patterns and important covariates, and the preparation of a peer-reviewed manuscript with co-authors from the NWFSC. This is an excellent opportunity for a person with good quantitative and science-writing skills to contribute to a project of high importance in the field of conservation biology.

FISHERY BIOLOGIST 1 - POSITION 2
OAI is seeking a Fishery Biologist 1 to provide support the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Biological Field Station, in Hammond, Oregon. This is a short-term position. The incumbent will provide support to NMFS research studies involving the recovery of Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tags from salmonids in the Columbia River Basin. These studies are being conducted to evaluate reach survival of juvenile salmonids within the Columbia River system.

SCIENTIST 9: ESSENTIAL FISH HABITAT IMPACT REPORT
Ocean Associates Inc. is seeking a candidate who will provide professional support to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) in Honolulu, HI (remote work acceptable). The successful candidate will work with the Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO) Habitat Conservation Division (HCD) in developing a Five-Year Review Report that identifies the non-fishing related federal actions that are reasonably foreseeable to occur in the Pacific Islands/Western Pacific Region that may adversely affect Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) on a watershed and ecosystem scale; evaluates how these impacts affect EFH; analyzes the cumulative impacts of the identified non-fishing activities actions on the functional services of EFH; and provides recommended conservation, enhancement, and mitigation measures to avoid, minimize, and mitigate those effects. Remote work is allowed for this position.
