Went in for Sunday brunch and had a great experience. The grilled breakfast enchiladas were perfectly fried and not too heavy. The Bloody Maria had just the right amount of kick. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the live music was just right - pleasant and ambiance-enhancing. I'll be coming here again for sure the next time I'm in Austin!

Good watery Mexican beer selection. Worst margarita I've ever had (one star deduction). Food was pretty good though. Overpriced for the quality. Also the music selection didn't really set a good high quality Mexican restaurant ambience

I liked Manuel's a lot. It is not a ultra fancy restaurant, and hence not too expensive. I found the food to be good, and authentic. We were seated quickly, and service was prompt. Our waiter was funny and attentive, and added to the experience. We had lunch and dinner there. I had the shrimp dinner and my wife had enchilada. Its a good place, and I would love to return.

Came in on a nice Saturday night with no reservation, the wait still wasn't that bad. I sat at the bar to wait and Austin the bartender offered to serve us the full menu there instead, which was great. Our dishes were excellent and the service was fantastic.

I came in today looking for the Compechana. Mexican style fresh fish and shrimp appitizer and it was delicious. Also have had "juans ceviche". Also very good. Large portions will sayisfy one person as a light healthy entree.

We were skeptical from the reviews but gave it a shot anyway. From the start. The chips were awful. Then we ordered the queso which was just a bowl of melted cheese. Not even creamy melted cheese. Cheese that would be in a quesadila. We proceeded to order already being hesitant. Enchiladas and fajitas were ordered, both came out bad and with no flavor. We just gave up at this point. Our waiter came to take our food, who was very nice and great, I will say and asked how our food was. We were honest and he went and got the manager. The manager proceeded to tell us that it was basically our mistake that we ordered fajitas. That fajitas are "tex mex" and essentially the trash of Mexican food. Terribly disappointed and will never return.

Modern decor (if you care - I don't), polite staff, terribly bland food. I expected the food to be overpriced, but I was so disappointed with virtually everything that I had to send my dish back. The chips were like flavorless styrofoam, the salsa and black beans tasted like they came from a can, and there was no effort put into the rice. I will say the loma de res was cooked quite well and the goat cheese was a nice touch, but I couldn't justify the $15 tab I was facing so I put down my fork after a few bites. This was the first time I've ever outright sent a dish back to the kitchen, and the staff was very accommodating about it. The head chef or kitchen, however, is asleep on the job at Manuel's.
