Ellen McCarty and Kevin Weinberg opened Walnut Creek Yacht Club in May of 1997 with the mission of bringing the finest and freshest from the sea to Walnut Creek.  Why do we call ourselves a yacht club?  Because we bring the atmosphere of a day on The Bay to landlocked Walnut Creek.  We want our guests to feel comfortable, relaxed, and welcomed.   We have won Best Seafood Restaurant from numerous local newspapers and magazines, and we are a Michelin Recommended Restaurant.
We have a Wine Spectator Award winning wine list, and our bartenders and their cocktails have received numerous awards, both locally and nationally.
Come in, and see what we've caught!

The service was very slow. We had large gaps between courses. Our server was inattentive at best. The food was slow coming out of the kitchen. And the restaurant was not full. The food however was fresh and well prepared.

HAPPY HOUR!! We sat at the oyster bar and ordered a dozen oysters, the calamari, and the burger. The oyster shucker that day gave us 2 types of oysters (instead of 1 type usually on happy hour) the point Reyes and malpeques - both EXCELLENT. & the burger... PERFECT. the best HH in walnut creek, and I would prob even say the best food in wc.

Fresh seafood in the East Bay! This isn't a private club either, so don't be fooled, everyone is welcome. :) The WCYC's seafood selection is stupendous and the service is just as good. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their wine selection is excellent. They also have a wonderful Mother's Day brunch so get in early to enjoy it! A true gem in the East Bay.

Excellent happy hour! Make sure to order the dozen oysters. We had a mix of Pt. Reyes Miyagis and something else. Both were delicious. The burger and calamari were surprisingly good too. I'm not a big fan of the happy hour places in downtown WC, but I would definitely come back here. Good service too

Phenomenal seafood in the most relaxed fun atmosphere you could imagine. And a great happy hour and loyalty club as well!

great seafood that is always fresh-as-can-be due to chef kev's brother's wholesale company. the menu changes often and in addition to the listed entrees, any of their fish can be prepared simply grilled blackened or sauteed with your choice of sauces and sides. the full bar has an impressive rum selection and cocktails that are both imaginative and delicious. don't miss the fantastic desserts.

Great seafood! And the drinks and appetizers are great too. My favorite dinner is the grilled wild king salmon.
